Why should he?? It would be absolutely stupid for Matney to keep his starters in the whole game trying to run up the score on a 1A team and risk getting a key player injured. There would go the playoff contention and for what? To say you beat Paintsville. :confused: And as for Paintsville, once the game would get out of hand, out would come the starters for the same reason. You guys on here saying that Matney should run up the score and not pull the starters must be thinking with your emotions and not your brain. Look what happened to Shelby County. A streak of bad luck and you can be done! This game just isn't worth it for either team.

Do you Tiger fans think that it matters when they are posting 685 yards against a very good Woodford Co. team?

I dont think that anyone has ever accused them of being the best JC team ever but they are one of the best especially on the offense. As far as the defense goes they are a good defensive team EXCEPT for the most important part, the fundamentals. They get to the ball but they dont tackle well. That isn't usually a characteristic of o Jim Matney team but facts are facts and they dont tackle well.

John Hardin put up nearly 600 yards against them and a hundred through the air.So are we to believe that JC did somethingreally all that crazy against WC's weak run defense? But at least you agree with me somewhat on JC's D being maybe a little suspect. Coach Matney has done great things for JCHS football and deserves all the credit for it. I just hope everyone stays healthy because this could be a very good yeaar for both teams.

If PHS can make JCHS keep the ball 4 a while, then the Tigers have a chance. Paintsville's DL and LB spots have 2 step up. Berry Ward and Cody Reynolds need 2 have a big nite. Painsville has 2 stop 2 plays.....46 Belly and 25 Belly. I'll take PHS in a close 1.

Well the rushing record is 710 yards in one game you can correct me if i am wrong. That record will be broken this weekend! Paintsville will see a lot of the JCHS JV team second half. Paintsville might score once if there lucky. Sorry tigers look past this game, and prepare for your next opponent. I agree there is no reason to run the score up, but even with the starters out Central will dominate this game regardless! Thats why I am still sticking with 70 points.

I don't really give a crap what JH did. They are also one of the best 5A teams in the state. Plus anytime you miss the state record by +/- 40 yards then yea I would consider that a good night. Coach has done some good work at JC. I dont push this years bad fundamentals on him I think its more of a lack of "want to" from his players

I'm in no way wanting the score to be ran up. I stated that as somewhat of an inside joke and I think Brown is the only one who caught it. To me winning is winning by an inch or a mile. Yea I would like to see JC destroy Paintsville. But if the dont I surely wont be disappointed.

I think it's more youth and inexperience. We replaced a few fantastic defensive backs with a freshman and a sophomore, and then our nickel back is another kid who just hasn't played a lot. Central needs a game like this - when you play Breathitt and STM and Station and Shelby County week in and week out, you need a chance to build some confidence at some point.

Each player on both teams puts their heart and soul into every practice, every game. For people to get on here and down grade them for their own pleasure is flat out ridiculous. After the district championship game in basketball this year and a PHS coach's wife ran across the court to stick her crusty *** finger in a JC coach's face and laugh, exemplifies class. But I forgot, since it was HER, it was funny and not classless. Since it was Paintsville doing it, it was ok. The "as long as it isnt degrading us, we could care less" attitude. One of the reasons why, after attending PHS all my life, if it wasnt for a few select kids over there still that I enjoy seeing succeed, could I care less if they lost every game they ever played in any sport for as long as they keep the doors open.

We've had tailgating going on for 3 or 4 years. It's just moved from the side of the field by the baseball field to the old Kroger parking lot.
