Fairview was if im not mistaken was the only road team to win a 1st round playoff game in the state. in 2014 I know for sure in 1A..MAYBE IN ALL CLASSES

I'm pretty distrct 6 gets diatrict 7 last place team as a #4 seed so a sweep might be a little tough

I thought Fairview looked very good last year, especially with eveything that was going on with their program. They played LC very tough and I am glad we get to play them again this year. Should be a great game that will benefit both teams. We have Raceland on schedule again too which is awesome , especially if we don't have 50 turnovers like we did that last game when we got beat down pretty good.

I'm eager to here how the hazard game goes in 2015.

Ive said it a million times, but the eagles must improve on the defensive side of the ball and in the running game to be competitive in their district (in the same breath the region). They came out throwing every down in the second match up with Raceland and were competitive in the first half. Raceland adjusted though and started dropping LBs and the game becomes another blow out. They were pretty youg upfront though. So i expect a better rushing attack this year.

Will be tough year for Fairview. Roy will only carry them so far
04-11-2015, 03:04 AM
^ I think they got a few more playmakers than Roy. Like Scotty said they will need to improve in the running game and on defense to be successful in 2015.
04-11-2015, 03:21 AM
Roy and Washington will be the bulk of their offense. It may be enough to win a bulk of their games, but u cant beat good teams and make a deep playoff run being one demensional. They have a few underclassmen that should help out in the passing game this next season. But against the other two in the district, it wont matter. Their runnig game beig weak will allow Raceland and Paintsville both to stay in their primary defense and be able to defend against both the run and the pass. Especially with Phelps back for Paintsville and Raceland's LBs are all good in coverage as well. I wish them luck, but I see them finishing 3rd in the district.

Fairview will not win a district game again , never again

While I believe this statement is stiring the "pot of crazy" that is the. Raceland/Fairview rivalry, I have to agree that its goina be tough. I just dont see them being on the same level sith what Raceland and Paintsville will put on the field. Roy and Washington are great players and gutsy competitiors, but the run game was weak as was their defense in general. Paintsville was a different team by seasons end and if they were to have met in the playoffs it would have ended much like the Raceland/Fairview playoff game did. With what Raceland is accomplishing in the feeder system and what is already in place for the next few yeas PLUS, having Chirico and the entire Paintsville community getting back in to their football recharge, its going to be hard for Fairview to beat either team over the elnext few years.

several coaching changes this year for the eagles. led by fred ray and much improved coaching staff...mostly on defensive side. new scheme will help the eagles defense this year. much less confusion and overall depth on d will benefit fairview
06-22-2015, 06:14 PM
every thing I have seen up until dead period tells me that this senior class will produce big numbers this year...both sides of the ball
06-22-2015, 09:46 PM
I think Roy could potentially see a 3000 yd/25+ TD passing season, problem is, it will be by default. If im the HC at Fairview, i wanna see him with around 2000 and 15-20 with a rushing attack that supplies 1500-2000 yds and 20 tds by committee. A one or two man show wont win the district.
06-22-2015, 10:25 PM
Whats the new defensive scheme? I think they ran a 4-3 last year. Any of the new def coaches have previous ties to Ray?
06-22-2015, 11:19 PM
Fairview has a big hole to fill when replacing Blake Smith, I don't recall any other receivers outside of Washington and Smith doing anything substantial. The run game was nonexistent, so that has to improve drastically. Teams will now have a season's worth of film to study Fred Ray's offense, which takes away that element of surprise that they had last year. Roy is a good quarterback, but let's not act like he's the best quarterback in the state of Kentucky. Based on the schedule they are playing, I don't see much better than a 6-4 season.
06-23-2015, 12:09 AM
your assumption about the eagles record in 2015 is about a good as yours last year...I believe you said 5-5 for Fairview in 2014? keep this in mind we play Paintsville at home...not in a stadium where the refs are best friends with the coaches and relatives of players. with that being said I believe 8-2 is not out of the question with a deep run through the playoffs most likely in region championship game.
06-23-2015, 12:21 AM
as far as the wide outs go yes Washington will lead the way. with several others looking to make a name for themselves. very possible again to have multiple 1000 yard wr's again this year...Washington had 977yds and had to play a game at qb for the injured roy. so 1000 is pretty close for antwan or more in 2015.
mason mcintrye jr
Dylan romine jr
Shannon Monroe jr...all basketball players will be big targets for roy
mark ekers sr
derrick elswick sr...along with others will see considerable amount of catches.
as far as the running game goes. 4 returning starters on offensive line and john ruggles and shane cook both with great size and speed at the rb position with another year under their belt.

also am hearing that a kid from cabell midland is transferring to Fairview this year. if so look out
06-23-2015, 12:24 AM
Just by looking at fairview rosters they have the player for sure to compete.
06-23-2015, 12:28 AM
not questioning your intelligence scotty...your simply basing your predictions on our run game...for sure it will be better this year. and yes if roy maybe tucked and ran or handed off a few more times then yes you could see a different team

^^^ wow ramkitty you really do not have a clue about local high school football..i understand you hate Fairview but 5-5 that's ridiculous. thanks for the laugh ramkitty:biglmao:

Got nothing to do with hating Fairview, it's an honest opinion based on last year's performance of the teams on their schedule. I believe I said they would go 5-5 last year, they went 6-4, I was pretty damn close, but since you know so much about high school football, why don't you show me how they get to 8-2. Going 5-5 or 6-4 against that schedule is nothing to be ashamed of, it's a tough one. If Fairview has six wins by the time they play Raceland, then I will buy you a burger at the game.
