Can you name ONE kid on the team from another county or state?:HitWall:

NO but ever one knows, I have family up there and they talk about it all the time. I do know that Lorenzen and Smith off the 98 team was not suppose to go to Highlands and they went there.

Good try...Lorenzen's mom & dad were divorced. He lived with his mom in Ft Thomas. Smith grew up in and went to Silver Grove. (about 3 miles from Highlands) He wanted to play football and since he went to a school that didn't have a football team, he had to make a choice...Highlands or Campbell County. What would your choice have been.

That's two from 10 years ago. What else do you have?

"EVER ONE KNOWS" what? People "TALK ABOUT IT" means nothing.

So your telling me that year after you produce this awsome football teams and the talent never runs out. You win state almost ever year, c'mon everbody goes through cycles except for you guys and Trinty and St. X. Heck even Danville has had some tough years, so explain that. I know you can't win it every year with home grown kids.

With county schools you have go with what you delt with, you may be good for 5 or 6 years and then the talent may dry up for 2 or 3. Then it starts all over again, I'm a numbers person and Highlands #'s just don't add up.

Well, so much for that. I don't argue with stupidity.

I saw LCC, Pulaski and Whitley play this year and JC could have beat all three fairly easy. i get the feeling JC hit a nerve with the mighty Highlands fans when they showed up and gave them a game. I know someone will give us the score again, but ask the Highlands players and coaches if they thought they were in a game. The Highland coaches know what they will have to face next year. Like i said earleir bash us and trash us and tell us how great you have been and are going to be, we are not impressed or afraid, see you next year in Eagleville.

Don't you mean "gave them a game until the halftime adjustments"?:lmao:

Speaking of Lorenzen, he now lives in Fort Thomas and he just had a baby boy this summer. Do you think 15 years from now when the next J Lo steps on the field at Highlands that they ney sayers will complain about him also?

I blame your coach for that not your players. In the game against Highlands your coach was the like the prize fighter who is getting his clocked cleaned and constantly goes over and grabs the ropes for relief.
Did JC not have a powerhouse this year?
And in all reality next year never really comes.
You guys will run the same offense next year with the same result and your record next year will be 12-1.

I think if you would use valuable time and look back then you would see that it was not even a JC fan who started this thread. :goofy:
I love the fact that some people get on here and have no clue!:ChairHit:

I think you are missing big time on that one. Highlands has had "down cycles." You just have conveniently forgotten them.

They were down in 2001 and 2002 but returned to the finals in '03 and '04 (only winning the title in the latter year).

They were not in the finals in '05 and '06 and were beaten by better teams then.

From '83 to '88 the Birds did not make a State final.

Come on, that looks like the opposite of what you just described. :HitWall:
#74
...it's just that a "down cycle" is a team that loses 2 or 3 games for Highlands.

I just cant help but laugh over this whole post.

And Newport did what?

There is one common opponent that both Johnson Central and Newport Central Catholic played this year and that was CovCath. That powerful, well diversified and exciting offense that your team runs did manage to put up 14 points in a loss against them. What was it that that boring predictable, and one dimensioned offense that JC runs do against CovCath ? Oh yeah, I think I remember now. They put up 52 points against them and got a win out of it.

Now run your mouth some more!!!! Haha

Being 2nd after getting your rear kicked is kinda like being runner up in an ugly contest isn't it?
#78
You know we live in a great country when a fan base (and Coach) cries and moans about "running up the score" in the early part of the year, then tries to lay claim as the "second best team in 5A" in the latter part"!

Wow, we've got another real winner here. Do you not even read the posts in these threads?

Where did any coach try to lay claim to anything? Wasn't even a JC fan that started this thread.

After hearing the Highlands/John Hardin game, I'd say it was no doubt that Johnson Central appears to be the #2 team in 5A this year.
#81
Here we go:

1. Fort Thomas Highlands

2. Johnson Central
3. John Hardin
4. Bowling Green
5. Christian Co.
#82
If Johnson Central was the second best team in 5A then 5A wasn't real competitive this year. Johnson Central may not have made the top ten in 4A this season.
#83
Hardin is too fast for JC to contain. Sorry, but they're the legit #2 in the state 5a division. Highlands is just that good. Hardin would have beaten JC by 2 TD's.

John Hardin was runner-up (2nd place) this season. All the what-ifs, probablies and comparing scores is just conjecture. If believing you're #2 makes the JC fans feel better about their season, then that's okay too.
#86
Okay, JC gave Highlands the ball back 4 times to start the second half...at half time it was 21-14 Highlands. Highlands was too much for JC but by no means "Dominated" the game...Highlands DOMINATES John Hardin but you idiots still argue they are 2 TD's better than JC??? Someone with a little bit more sense please explain to me your logic behind this. Highlands had NO answer for JC's Powerful (boring) one demensional offense and JC beat themselves...You cannot make mental mistakes against a team at Highland's caliber but to say John Hardin is 2 TD's better than JC is plain obsurd. Didnt you also say Cov. Cath shouldnt waste the trip to JC they would beat us by 3 TD's? Gosh you Northern Folk are rediculous sometimes...Congrats Highlands...you were the best overall team in the state...When I have kids i will be sure to bring them to watch you guys...maybe even come watch during "recruiting day"
#87
After watching JH last night, they would not be stopped by JC's D in the 2nd half. They would pull away and win by at least 2TD's IMO. JC would score some points in the 1st half but not enough to win by a longshot. This JH team is every bit as fast as Highlands.

I listened to the game last night, and never at any time was JH ever a threat to score on Highlands , and never at any time was JH a threat to stop Highlands. Not quite the case in the JC game.

4A and Johnson Central:

1) Boyle County
2) Lone Oak
3) Bell County
4) Lexington Catholic
5) Marion County
6) Allen County Scottsville
7) Franklin Simpson
8) Lawrence County
9) West Jessamine
10) Johnson Central

Maybe you're right. I guess they DO squeeze into the top ten.
