First of all "Johnny Ringo" I recall the first rumors ever to be started was about NEWMAN....right or wrong? Rumors that he was working and that he FAILED a year of high school......those were NOTHING but rumors...no truth to either of those tails.......he was HOME BOUND (for medical reasons, which is non of anyones business) not HOME SCHOOLED......people should have investigated a little more before they started all of this.....the pictures from the anuals don't mean anything....so what if he was in 8th grade in 2003.....he was HOME BOUND....not failed....get your stories straight....besides if any school in floyd county wants a shoot at winning the district this year they better hope NEWMAN don't get to play..(and if someone knocks him out of playing you must remember what comes around goes around.....and don't come back with some comment like....rules are rules....he's eneligable...its not fair...well the worlds not fair)...besides wouldn't u hate to play against him....he's unstoppable in the paint,....deal with it!!!
..........and one more thing.....u all better worry about his little brother which is a Sophmore and also plays ball for BLHS....he's not a 5th year senior....he's not ineligable in any way...so when he becomes a major threat (which is coming shortly) ...whats your reason going to be why he can't play....YOU'RE NOT GOING TO HAVE ONE!!!

After reading this bylaw, I dont think he would be eligible to play this year.
"...and beginning with the first promotion from grade eight
(8), the four-year count of eligibility has begun. According to
OAG82-473 opinion, the promotion and retention of students in
all grades are the direct and sole responsibility of the Principal
through policy developed by the local board of education. There
are no provisions in the bylaws for medical red-shirting or other
types or repeating in order to allow for additional semesters
due to sports related injuries. The KHSAA Board of Control
reaffirmed in July of 1999 that athletics is indeed a privilege and
not a right, and in fact, waivers shall only be granted in the case
where the right to basic education services is impacted due to
illness or injury rather than simply the loss of athletic privilege."
Reading that bylaw, it sounds like the KHSAA has removed the redshirting from high school sports unless you are in such a bad shape physically that you cant even be considered a home bound student.
I think at this point in time, it is on the KHSAA shoulders to determine if he can play or not. Finger pointing to other schools or persons wont get him able to play just as saying on here he can or cant. I personally hope that he can. I think he would have a good chance of getting a free college education by playing a game.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It is the size of the fight in the dog.
