Honorable mention to Robbie Lucas, Jay Cobb, James fletcher. I think you could make arguments for all 7. Jim Williams and Tony Massey both played in the NFL so those are locks, coach Caine was a great coach, and John cole still holds numerous state receiving records. Jay Cobb resurrected the program and Robbie Lucas has won 5 straight regional titles. James fletcher (according to lure) was one of the best backs in program history.

Pete Venable? UK product and played on the '78 State Runner-up I believe.

Bo McMillan of the Praying Colonels was a player for the Jumpers wasn't he? He's only in the College Football Hall of Fame.

Certainly you are correct. My post was mostly directed at the Lloyd alum who believed he was the pinnacle of success in Erlanger, neglecting to realize Lloyd has a great history.

I would put in Marty Moore over Jared Lorenzen, maybe even Mike Mitchell. I not real up on Burt so do not know if I would put them in over him.

Marty maybe but not Mitchel.

I picked two most prominent coaches (both elevated program to the next level) and balanced the players with one old school and one more modern. Jared was Mr. Football (so was Pat) and as dominate of a high school player as I have ever seen. Carnival show aside I really think he is an easy choice.

I thought about him simply for his performance against Middlesboro. Then there's TJ Green, Cody Taylor, Marcus McMillian, and Jake Middleton at running back. This years class made only the third class to go all 4 years at HCHS so there's more history to be made but there's so many that have laid a foundation for establishing Harlan County Football.

This years team could have used a Glen Roberts to squash all the drama.

I think T.J. basically changed the course of history for HCHS during a three-game stretch in the second season when the Bears should have lost to Letcher, Perry and North Laurel on successive weeks. He showed more heart and made more plays in that three-week stretch than I've ever seen.

Was it the Letcher Game or North Game Robbie Halcomb had a game saving tackle? I was thinking it was North but I thought the score was 12-7. But the North game went into a couple of overtimes.

The tackle was against Letcher. Green had a big touchdown run in that game, jumping over one of the Letcher defenders.
He scored a couple of touchdowns in the final two minutes against Perry when that game appeared to be over. It was the biggest comeback that I can remember.

Michael West was just flat out fast and if Chuke Williams had wanted to push the matter I believe he would have broke the state rushing record long before JJ Jude but he did not start at HB his freshman year he only ran from time to time his freshman year and the bulldogs were pass happy that year because they had Gerad PArker at receiver and Jason MIchael at qb but that is just my opinion. Mine has 5 heads.........because I can lol.

Double G those are some hardcore guys from Louisa. I would say tops around if you go beyond high school and Chuke was my coach at Paintsville but those are some some great names you have.

For Highlands Rice and Mueller are a given. (Washington & Lincoln)

For Cov Cath obviously Lynn Ray is one.

I think Jeremy Madden should prob be there.... I think he had all their rushing records at least when I was playing. and he scored the winning TD in the mud bowl. 3 year starter at tailback

What about that Blesser QB from their last state team?
Was there a rushing QB Ellison that started for years? don't know if he won state or anything...

I didn't know that Mitchell was at highlands for just one year.... I think that takes him off Rushmore. Even if he might be the most successful 'Bird in the pros.
