Truth Wrote:Since Trinity is an all boys school, it seems obvious that, if they have female cheerleaders, they had to use either girls from other area Catholic schools or their mothers.
As for the commentators, their knowledge of who is and who isn't a successful recruiter (after all, all schools recruit to one degree or another) is no better than that of anyone else who follows high school sports. And, like the rest of us, they have their own prejudices and loyalties. Such matters, it seems, are in the eyes of the beholder.
My only problem is with those who lose and then use whatever excuses they can muster. It would be more honorable to just admit that, in nearly every case, their team got beat by a better team. That was certainly the case in this game.
To be honest I didn't know Trinity was an all boy's school and I have no idea why I guess it just never crossed my mind.
Like I said I was rooting for Trinity.

Truth Wrote:Are you serious? Scott County's reputation for "alleged" recruiting during the last four or five years is legendary. Ask Rose Hill and a few other "sending" schools. The news must not circulate among residents of Whitley County.
Also, it didn't take long for you whinny public apologists to start crying did it?
Another fine win for private schools.
The truth is right in front of you.
Like it or not, its what happens.
Keep lying to yourself.
Im not turning this thread into a public/private debate because its been dont to many times before and i refuse to talk about it. But i know that your not naive enough to believe a word that you just said. IMO, Scott County should have a banner for football and basketball this year as well that dont read runner-up.

Kudos to Billy Hicks on the red jacket
Also, Trinity's players have some nice, expensive looking tattoos.
That was part of the package when they were recruited to play for Trinity.
$500 a week, free meals, and all the tattoos you want by a professional artist. They were getting them ready for Ohio State.

I agree with Truth on this one. I am not going to be sorry for Scott Co. They seem to get great players from other schools also. Before the Rose Hill players, you had back to back Mr. Basketball's in the late 90's or early 2000 ( I can not remember the years). I am not saying they are recruiting, but they have got some great players over the past several years.

Your ignorant and whiny attitude makes Trinity's win that much more satisfying.
As for recruiting, as I said earlier, all schools do it or at least attempt to do it. No exceptions other than a school like Covington Latin where academic requirements for admission are remarkably selective. If you believe otherwise, you are quite naive in regard to the reality of high school athletics. If you doubt this, read the KHSAA by-law dealing with recruiting and transfers. The list of possible offenders is not limited to school employees. I'll even bet agents of Whitley County have made overtures to athletes from other schools at one time or another.
If Trinity were a public rather than a private school, I doubt that you would be upset- unless, of course, those tattoos are your real hangup.

If you have proof turn it into the KHSAA

How does Scott County get football players from Rose Hill when they don't even have a team?

Who mentioned football? This is a basketball forum. How many basketball players has Scott County "gleaned" from other schools in the last few years? I'll give you a hint. The number is not zero. Surely you can do better than that.
The bottom line is that you are upset that a private school walzed through the brackets filled with publics. Of course, you can use the growing national excuse- if you don't win the other side must have cheated. Possibly you should consider the possibility that the other team was better. That is a unique thought in this modern age but it should be considered. Every contest has a winner and a loser and sometimes you are the loser.

Really? Don't you find it a bit of a stretch to tie in a mention that Trinity is the first to win a football and a basketball championship in the same year with lack of football at Rose Hill?
Just admit that you have the raw butt over a private school dominating your publics. You aren't the only one to feel the pain.

I have no doubt that I'm right on target. Your posts are rather obvious. I noticed that your boys didn't play any private schools this season. Maybe they should do so. It might help them in the long run.
Sixty-four schools won a district title. Of that group, sixteen, including your boys, won a regional title. Only one wins it all. This year it was clearly the best high school team in the state- Louisville Trinity (one of those "terrible" private schools). Still, sixty-three other schools had some measure of success. That should be the focus instead of hunting for excuses.

Unfair advantage for Trinity! How was Scott County supposed to play well while being pinched every time they went down the court? They can't help that their color is red, and Trinity is green.

The only thing in doubt is your thinking. I could care less about you or your school. Your the one that keeps going out about the private and public debate debate. Have i done that? Nope. So insecurity about yourself is showing. I guess your a body builder. You know what they say about them? Big in some areas and short in one. I could care a rats ass about Trinity or you.
