Pikeville 35 - Tellico Plains, TN 8
#61
I may be mistaken, but I think it was in the 94' season when Hillard made his return at the helm for the Panthers., and I think
Pikeville won that one. Again I may be wrong with the yr.

You may be right, I wasn't living around here at the time, so I don't know.

Where was this game played? I know the one in '90 was at Pikeville, as is this year's contest.

How about you taking your Topix mentality to where it's appreciated.

Found out the two schools played in 1993 and 1994.

Where were the games played at? I'm sure Pikeville won both of them, but I'm more curious to know if SV got the Panthers to come play them at Robinson Creek one of those two years.

1994 was at SV, therefore I assume 1993 was at Pikeville.

Thanks for the info.

I really hope that SV-Pikeville games become more of a regular occurrence. I would love it if they played every year, but I realize that's probably not very realistic. Still, I would at least hope they could meet up for a couple seasons in a row every few years. This year probably isn't the year for Valley to pull off a win over the Panthers (shame they didn't play a couple years ago when SV had one of their better teams in recent memory), but it still should be a lot of fun.

You seem to be connected pretty well to the Pikeville program, do you know if the game with SV later this year is just a 1-time thing, or will the Panthers possibly be returning the home game next year?

99% sure we will be making the short drive over in 2012.

I will say this......#66 for Tellico was pretty darn good! I saw the guys from UK who came to watch a kicking clinic talking to #66 for Tellico. That boy has a future!

We played SV my JR year 1993 @ Pikeville (42-14) and my SR year 1994 @ SV (63-14). Thats the last time Pikeville and SV have played until this year.

Posting on this one now because I just watched the game today.
Tellico never quit in this one even though it was clear they were never really in this one.
There was nothing on them in the Tenn. Magazine Wheeler sent me, which covers every school in their state.
Pikeville looked better as far as not standing around as much and I loved the way they were able to move players around and still get results. Being this versatile I. M.O. will cause a lot of match up problems, especially for the schools they will face in their own class and in the playoffs.
