While I agree with you, let's remember these are kids & they are impressionable. I'd hate to think that a blogger would keep a kid from coming to a school but it's possible. :lame:
La Salle 2* OL & former Western Michigan commit, David Baumer has accepted a preferred walk-on spot at UK.
On campus this weekend:
3* WR/CB Janarion Grant Dade City, FL-Rutgers commit but still visiting UK. Has also visited Rutgers & Houston, which he also has an offer from.
3* OT Maurice Swain LaGrange, GA-Has also visited Indiana, San Diego State, & Washington. Has offers from all but Washington
3* OG Nick Haynes Niceville, FL-UK in his Top 3 with UCF, & FAU. Has offers from all 3 & has visited the other two.

You also have to consider that, as I am sure you both know, Matt Jones has a daily radio show Monday - Friday that draws a lot of listeners and callers not only from all over the state but, all over the country. I listen to the show every morning myself I think its a good show. Matt did mention that Jason Hatcher tweeted him but, I do not recall him mentioning a text on the radio show. Which, I was at work so it could be possible that I missed that. They also talked about the UK coaches visiting Hatcher at Trinity.
Anyways, the point is that he is more than just a blogger. So I can understand he or other players including him or KSR slightly in their decision because he will be the one either talking positively or negatively during their career at UK. May sound stupid but, just my opinion.

Badet chooses UK
Kentucky's recent successes in the state of Florida continued Friday night when Orlando (Fla.) Freedom 3-star wide receiver Jeff Badet announced for the Wildcats.
UK had been the leader for the one-time South Florida commit since his official visit to Lexington the weekend of Jan. 18. He chose the Cats over scholarship offers from UCLA, Louisville, N.C. State, Iowa State and Wake Forest among others.
The 5-foot-11, 160-pound speedster caught 46 passes for 718 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior in 2012. He is the 18th known commitment in the 2013 recruiting class and the third wide receiver to join the class.
The Sunshine State product is rated an 86 overall by 247sports and is Mark Stoops' ninth commitment from the state of Florida.
He could be the first of two commitments for the Cats on the night as DeLand (Fla.) 3-star all-purpose back JoJo Kemp is set to announce at 7:15 PM ET.
Badet may also run track for the Wildcats.

I'm not sure, most think the ship has sailed. I think Clemson lost interest & I'm not sure we even have ever offered. Most think Woulard is Bruin Bound. Even early reports during his visit last week, were coming out from ESPN & specifically Trent Dilfer that he had committed. I think he may have given a silent commitment. Although I do feel with Badet on board, it puts us in better position for Woulard. I sure hope so.
Two big commitments in a matter of 20 minutes, big night for Stoops & company. We're up to 19 commitments leaving 6 more of the allotted 25. Of course we do have 2 more for the two players that were dismissed earlier in the winter. I guess that's really 8. I can't squeeze all the guys I want on a wishlist of 8.

Badet had 63 completions for 883 yrds (13.98 yrd per) 10 TD, also had 6 TD rushing. Kemp had 1469 yrds on 255 attempts & 23 TD in their SR years.

Wide receiver Jeff Badet commits to UK

It wasn't a huge surprise, but it gives Kentucky's class a huge boost. Wide receiver Jeff Badet committed to Kentucky on Friday evening.
The former South Florida commit, a 5-foot-11, 160-pound receiver from Orlando (Fla.) Freedom High School, received offers from NC State, UCLA, Iowa State, Wake Forest, Boston College, Louisville and Minnesota, in addition to UK, over the course of the recruiting process.
"I've decided that I'll take my talents down to Lexington and I'll be attending the University of Kentucky," Badet said on 810 CBS Radio in Orlando.
"When I went on my visit it was the bond I had with the players," he said. "Before I came the quarterback for Kentucky, Maxwell Smith, told the coaches he wanted to be my host. He told coaches he wanted to persuade me, and you know receivers and quarterbacks gotta have a special bond because he's the guy throwing the ball to you."
Other players made Badet feel right at home also.
"I met a lot of players and I just made a bond with those guys," Badet said. "They were like, 'You need to come here. The coaches here are going to change things around.'"
One of the more explosive receivers in the state of Florida, Badet had 64 receptions for 903 yards and 17 touchdowns as a senior at Freedom.
Badet gave serious consideration to NC State, USF and Wake Forest. UCLA was in the mix recently as well.
Badet also cited playing time and the opportunity to play in the Southeastern Conference against the best teams in the nation as big factors in his decision.
Badet took his official visit to Kentucky on January 18. Javess Blue and Alex Montgomery are the other two wide receivers committed to Kentucky.
Badet's primary recruiters for Kentucky were running backs coach Chad Scott and offensive coordinator Neal Brown.

Running back Jojo Kemp picks UK over USF, WVU, Pitt
Justin Rowland
Special to CatsIllustrated.com
Kentucky was "all in" for running back Jojo Kemp. For a while, it wasn't clear if the Wildcats' efforts would pay off.
Fortunately for UK everything worked out in the end. Just shortly after Jeff Badet gave his verbal pledge to Kentucky on Friday evening, Deland (Fla.) running back JoJo Kemp did the same. Badet and Kemp are UK's 18th and 19th commitments in the class of 2013, respectively.
Kemp is an explosive 5-foot-10, 189-pound play-maker ranked as the No. 10 all-purpose back in the nation by Rivals.com. He's a near four-star prospect who had narrowed his choices to Kentucky, Pittsburgh, West Virginia and South Florida.
Each of those schools sent coaches to Kemp's home for visits. In the end, running backs coach Chad Scott and offensive coordinator Neal Brown won the day.
In addition to his finalists, Kemp had offers from Nebraska, Tennessee, Arizona State, Cincinnati, Indiana, Iowa State, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Purdue, Rutgers and Wake Forest, among others.
While Kentucky briefly showed interest in other running backs such as Stafon McCray and Dalyn Dawkins, Kemp emerged as their preferred option in the backfield. His high school runs an offense similar to the one employed by Brown. Kemp had more than 1,800 yards of offense while rushing for 23 touchdowns in 2012.

Knowing Badet's connection with Woulard, & the fact that Badet let it slip during his announcement that he & Kemp have talked about rooming together. So I'd imagine, that puts us out of the Woulard sweepstakes.

Travis Johnson @IAmFeedMe Where #BBN at?
I am interested to see if anything comes of this! Johnson(4*) is rated as the #6 TE and 162nd overall player by ESPN

I noticed that as well. Well truth is, we all know he's not going to USF or at least I'd be shocked if he did. I'd say it's basically between Clemson, UK, & UCLA. I hope they push him to committing to UK. I think it's awful that the fans would act as such. If per say Hatcher, Timmons, and/or Andrew Wiggins picked somewhere beside UK, I think people need to show class & wish them well. Let's face it, it's just something we enjoy these guys are talking about their finacial futures & I'd prefer to see them go somewhere they can succeed even if it's not at UK. I can't speak for all the BBN, because I'm sure if any of the aforementioned happened someone would show their butt.

Well, after some research, I have discovered the big surprise that Justin Rowland tweeted about.
This morning, UK offered 4* DT Tevin Lawson. He is still technically committed to LSU but, there is a chance he may flip because LSU is trying to get him to greyshirt. Lawson is 6'4'' 275 and ESPN has him ranked as the #6 DT and the 152nd overall player. Rivals has him ranked as the #21 DT.

So, we have 6 scholarships remaining, what are everyone's thought on who will fill these final 6 spots??
Nick Haynes is a lock IMO.
Timmons is almost a lock. Highly doubt he goes anywhere else.
Corey Smith is pretty much a lock for us as well.
Hatcher is still up in the air but, we still have the lead IMO.
As far as the other 2 go, I honestly have no idea. We are in contact with numerous players. The ones that could be a possibility at this point are Asiantii Woulard(4*), Tevin Lawson(4*), Travis Johnson(4*), and Nate Godwin(3*). I am sure there are others that I might be forgetting or may be under the radar but, those 4 seem to be the most talked about recruits that have been in contact with UK.
Also, does anyone know what is going on with Rashaad Samples?? I have hear nothing but, last time I checked he still has a picture of him in a UK jersey on his twitter account and no other pics from other schools.
