Just FYI half the coaches in the state of Ky doesn't know that there is no "uncatchable" call in high school so don't feel bad.

Great job BC, nice to see we had a game on the first day instead of a blowout like the first two

Seems like 4A, for the third year in a row, was a close one.
Congrats to Boyle for the win, and hang your heads high ACS!

I sure hope you are wrong. I always hated watching games in Papa Johns Stadium. It's much more enjoyable to watch the games a Western and with the attentances up I think they will be here for a long time.

Ladies and Gentleman that is the quote of the day by Mr. Jack Lambert.
I wonder what Coach French's half time speech was like. Whatever it was they came out a totally different:rockon: football team.

Count me in as a firm believer that Western is BETTER than Papa Johns Stadium. Not even close in my mind. The drive difference, time wise is not even worth complaining about IMO. I've been to all 8 Title games for Boyle and the 2 in Bowling have been much better.
Congrats to Boyle! We have 7 but 8 would be Great!

Great game and great atmosphere.
Boyle completely shut down the Patriot's rushing attack, but to give them credit they just started heaving long passes and connected on most of them
I think the better team won, but it was as close as the score indicated.
I didn't think the refs played a big factor in the game and that's the way it should be.
For the second week in a row, I'm confused as to why Devon Cox didn't get more carries, but Chris Cook obviously got the job done.
Lamar Dawson was a BEAST on defense tonight. I haven't seen his total tackles yet, but it seems like it was a lot.
I like WKY as the venue as well. It's a great place to watch football and the parking wasn't too bad. The extra hour drive isn't unmanageable.

Commonwealth would be a really long drive for teams in WKY. Much longer than the drive from Danville to Bowling Green.
Louisville is the best location, but WKY is a better stadium.

I think if UK would ever go to a turf field, It would deff happen. They are to frantic about messing up the field no matter if there year is over....Kind of crazy, but UK is our premeir team in the Bluegrass, you would think they would want it there.

Did anyone else think that the ACS coach waited a bit too long to call timeouts on Boyle's last drive?
In hindsight, it wouldn't have made a difference, but at the time I sure thought he was making a mistake.

adopted purple Wrote:Congrats Rebels. Allen County played a great game. Much closer than everyone thought. I didn't hear them say the attendance but it looked like about 15,000. Great atmosphere for a High School Football Championship. I hope they keep it in Bowling Green.
Not everyone. If you look at the Week 15 pick em's I had Boyle County winning, but the score I predicted was 21-14. I do believe that was the final score.
Congrats to the Boyle county Rebel players and all you fans that made the trip west. It sure was a great game and a fantastic atmosphere. I think that you are a classy group of fans on here and I look forward to chatting with you again next year. Dawson was great, he seemed to be in on every play. What a ball hound. Cook deserved to be the player of the game. He is a tough runner and a solid defensive player. There were a few blown calls as mentionede above. That was clearly a fumble and the play clock did run out. But we also probably should have got called on a hit out of bounds on your sideline. I think mental mistakes on our part were the difference. WAY to many offside penalties at critical times. Allen county is the real deal and I tried to explain that it would be a good game. One play one way or the other and the mood here would be different. I am in no way trying to dowplay what your team has accomplished you now have seven titles for a reason. You guys played a better game. I look forward to keeping you from #8. See ya next fall.
87 out!

Great game. I wish Boyle could play two halves of a state championship game, but we won. ACS was a very good team, definitely one of the tops in 4A. They came ready to play from the start. Boyle's defense played very well from the start, holding a good rushing team under 100 rush yards. I feel like our offense should have put up a couple of scores that first half, but they dropped way too many thrid down passes that would have been big first downs. But it's a championship no matter how much you win by.

The announcer on tv just broke down the no uncatchable pass rule in high school. He's right. All these Saturday and Sunday rules are different on Friday.

Congrats to the Boyle County Rebels!! 30-0 what can you say lol? how about them rebels? I have to say that i am now a big boyle county football fan since we(bell) moved down to 3A. I will be rooting for Boyle in class 4a next year too and hope they win another title!!!
So could someone tell me what does the 2011 rebels look like and will they be primed for another run or will they have a young rebel team?

They will have talented skill players. But what may make 2011 a rebuilding year will be the loss of the entire offensive line. I don't forsee another undefeated season with their schedule, but maybe by the end of the year they should contend for another championship.

Great game and well worth the 8+ hour trip.
First Congrats to ACS. I was fortunate to practically close the stadium down last night and walked by the ACS buses as they were loading them. An ACS parent approached me with his hand out congratulating the Rebels. Class. I told him to tell the kids to be proud because they laid their all on the field and were a couple of more plays from changing the outcome. Kudos to not quitting and that last TD pass to put them back in the hunt was gutsy play on their part. They're a first rate group and am glad Boyle has them on the schedule for next year.
Congrats to the Rebels. I was sitting next to one of my best friends whose son plays as a sophomore and he said, "I sure do miss the Glasgow and Rockastle title games when we could laugh the whole 2nd half." I agree.
Sorry I did not get to catch up with Rebel and Purple Pride but there were a lot of people there. :please: forgive me.
Cook was a beast when the Rebels needed him most. He looked like Larry Csonka on those inside traps and dives. Awesome job by the whole O when it was on the line. ACS had everything going for them at the start of the 2nd and the Rebels just went out and took it away from them.
It was a special moment when my friend and his son embraced at the end of the game. The young man's grandfather died 3 years ago from a tragic accident in Russia when he was on a mission partnership. He would have been so proud of his grandson and what he's done with his life. Last night, Lawrence would have been so proud he'd have to take up 3 seats for his chest.
Long drive back today. Ice from Bristol to Abingdon and snow from there to Christiansburg, non stop. Tough road home but well worth it. On a side note: My daughter wore my old letter jacket proudly. (In fact she wore it more proudly than any girl wore it when I was IN High School! )
7 State Titles. Back to Back. 30 game winning streak. 43 out of 44 games is an impressive way to start a tenure at Boyle. Hats off to you Larry French for all you do in Keeping the Pride Alive. :1:
