Jack Lambert Wrote:I agree we wont see this kind of speed the rest of the year.they not only had speed they had several great atheletes.they are a very good a good football team.

No we're slow as heck. I like you Jack and look forward to possibly meeting you on the mountain. Keep thinking this is the best team you'll play and no one else has speed. I love that thinking. Be sure you and Hatz get up with me after the game on Log Mtn. And the d you guys keep boasting about, it's not what you want it to be and you know it. You know football Jack. Keep it real. Get the blinders off.

Oh, forgot to give congrats to Boyle on another win. Nice win indeed...

I was surprised at the line play of Christian. I expected better more athleticism up front.

Once a Colonel Wrote:I don't like that idea at all!!! I think part of the reason he kept kicking to him was to see if you all could stop him (since you had the lead). In case you faced a good returner down the road and really needed to kick it away.

That is a good point. We won't face anyone like Tandy again this year though and after he scored had you guys scored and got the onside kick you guys would have had 6 or 7 minutes to make up 2 td deficit and the momentum. I thought us recovering the onside kick was huge.

I also thought your coaches did a good job of making adjustments in the second half. I was concerned until late in the 4th quarter because you guys did a better job of getting the ball to Tandy and Davies. Hickey had a run that was nothing short of amazing. He looked like Michael Vick out there.

Good luck the rest of the year. Looks like you guys are headed to a home game in round 2 against my Purples. Should be a good one.

Quit being so sensitive. Be easy(pun intended). Their is no doubt in my mind that Christian County is the fastest and most athletic team we will face all year. Their is no doubt in my mind that if we make it to the Bell County game(and if you guys make it that far also) that Bell County is the best team we will face. Everyone in Boyle County(and Virginia, hi Hatz) knows this. We know all about Davenport and that he is one of the finest runners in the state. They had 3 Davenports. Unfortunately they didn't have a good enough defense to stop or control our offense. We know you guys do. Good try on trying to play the Boyle County is overlooking us and thinks we aren't the best team they will play angle but none of us are saying that and if we make it that far to you guys you'll see us giving you the respect you guys deserve in the prediction thread. And no one has blinders on, our defense is fine and they will be. Two different types of teams between CC and Bell. If Boyle and Bell meet I expect another knockdown drag out fight with both teams scoring below 20.

:thanks: "Yeah, what he said!"

Actually EasyM, I know it's all in fun. If the 2 meet again I hope it's as good a game as the other 2 have been.

To both of you, you're good guys. I'll throw Jack in there too. Oh yeah, Back in Black as well. So there's no hate coming your way from here. I very much respect Boyle Co. What they do is just win. They have for years now. We know if we both get there we have a battle on our hands. Anything but a close game would fool me. But, I don't agree with the athletic part. This is the most athletic Bell team all away around. Does that mean we beat Boyle? NO. But, I promise you Christian is not Bell in any sort.
Purple (in fun) we really do have 2 Davenports. I'll put their speed up against any of the players from Christian. You need to see these two race each other. Scary to say the least. Both are very gifted. We might have a couple more to go along with them as well.
I know we'll have to face Boyle if we get that far. Stay healthy and the best to all of you.
#39
And I hope the next game could possibly be as good as the two previous. These two teams have spoiled us all. Two special groups of kids for sure.

My fault. I forgot he had a brother. I actually knew that. And trust me, once we got up 28-7 on Christian I knew they weren't Bell County in any sort. Playing against their speed and athleticism may actually benefit us on down the road but they definitely were not Bell County. This is yet another year, much like the last 2 where I would put Bell and Boyle up against anyone in the state and expect a victory. I hope that we can still find a way to play each other despite being in 2 different classes for the next 3 years. I have a lot of respect for Bell County and I have always enjoyed talking with you guys. Good luck to you guys as well and I hope we meet up the day after Thanksgiving.

Yeah they have. The last 2 meetings are 2 of the best games I have ever witnessed. My only wish, even though it's not possible, is that they would be playing for a state title and not the right to go to state. On the plus side, I root for the winner in the next game regardless.

I never said CC was better than Bell.what i said was they could possibly be as good as Bell, and it turns out they were not as good as Bell. However i will say again they will be the fastest most atheletic team we will face all season.I dont know how Bells team speed compares to last years team, i wouldnt think it would be much different, and yes i will tell you the Bell county teams we have played the last two years does not have the kind of speed that CC has this year.yes Bell does have speed on thier team i know this, but CC speed is at another level, they have team speed like the Danville teams of old.all that being said you dont have to have world class speed to be a great team, and there is not a doubt in my mind if we play Bell they will be the best (team) we will play all year.easym no blinders on here Bell has all my respect.on the other hand i dont think you have any respect at all for Boyles defense.we had 4 starters out last night on defense.Im not gonna say we will beat Bell, but if we play Bell i promise after the game you will respect Dawson & company.

I like these 4 speed for Bell Co. Cody and Cory Davenport, Bryan Thacker and Scotty Henderson. These 4 are pretty quick this year.
#45
Congrats to Boyle Co. On another win, didn't see the game as I was nusing a shoulder injury from work, but did listen to the game, sounds like a great game, wish I able to be there.Hope to get back before the season is over.Go Rebels beat Bourdon Co.
#46
Impressive win for Boyle Co.
#47
Yeah. In no way, shape, or form was this CC squad close to the team of Bell Co. Bell will, as the past 2yrs, be the best team we play. Here's hoping for a state-semi clash on Log Mtn!

I don't really know how you can judge how good a team is off of one performance. We flat out didn't play good football last night or the previous week. With that, it was enough to play one of the top teams in the state to within a couple of touchdowns on the road after a 3.5 plus hour bus ride. We were sluggish in the first half, and atleast the offense came to life in the second. Hopefully, there is some time to fix our problems yet this season and that is the reason you play games like this.

And you are wrong with the respect of Boyle's defense on my part. I know they have a very solid defense. Do I think it's as good as you proclaim? No. I heard all year how teams had no chance of moving the ball against them and basically couldn't score on them. That statement is not proving to be accurate. As far as Dawson goes, he is what they say he is, but that doesn't make them the defense you want them to be. We had a lb go to Auburn but teams still scored on us. I don't doubt Boyle's defense in the least, but no, they're not as good as you make them out to be. And please don't think I'm saying a team can just run all over them. I'm not saying that at all. Just don't make them out to be Ray Lewis and company. And for the record, let us not forget Bell's defense. They are for real. You will get to see that firsthand hopefully. I'll go ahead and tell you now, they're just as good as Boyle's D. Believe it or not. And to boot, we have the upper hand on offense. With all of that I still say, it will be a dogfight if these two teams meet up. I would expect nothing less....Good luck to the Rebels.... Hope to see you on down the road. Our road will be a tough one to get there but I think we're up for the challenge.....Good night my friend...

easym i dont think they are Ray lewis and company, but i do think they are as good as last years Boyle defense when healthy.as for Bell having the upper hand on offense maybe so i havent seen them play this year, however i can tell you Boyles offense is better than last years Boyle offense.last year you knew we were gonna give the ball to Reese 98% of the time.this year you may see the wishbone ,one back set .two back set,or five wide.you never know what formation you will see,and they run them all equally well.they are very versitile on offense, and we actually have a QB that can throw the ball as well as run it.hes a much better QB than the two thats played against you guys the last two years.once again i know Bell will be the best team we will see all year if we make it that far.they have all my respect.good luck the rest of the season.

I'm Rebel55 and I endorse this message::biggrin:

You can tell the regular season is over and the playoffs are starting. The battle lines are being drawn and the chips have come back out on the shoulders.

IMO Boyle will not see anyone in 4A that has players quicker or faster than Bubba Tandy, Alex Davie, and Anthony Hickey. And before the replys start coming, this does not mean that I am saying Christian County is better than anybody we may see down the road. Just faster and not making any replys that any other team is slow.

Not trying to argue just offering a different opinion. I for one do not think Boyle's defense is as good as last year. Best 11 fully healthy maybe they are close. But when does that happen ? Even for one full game. Last year when somebody had to come out for a play or two we had better backups to come in. We just are not as deep. Thielman came off the bench last year and this year we have much smaller subs. Kephart has played pretty darned good for a soph at OLB but he is not as good as Steven Campbell yet. Just a Soph. Should be very good the next couple of years. Yeager has played well at DE but missed 3-4 weeks because of mono. Not quite the level of Brandon Taylor yet. Just a Soph also. Should be very good next couple of years. Best 11 to best 11 they are very close but the fact of the matter is that our best 11 have not been on the field much so I just can't see where they are as good.

I agree. They aren't as good as last year.... I said it at the beginning of the year. I said they had the potential to be, but, as of now, they didn't reach it. Also, I have loved the play of our Sophs this year on defense and offense. Yeager, Kephart, Kendrick, Hall, Mason have performed as well as could have been expected. Hope I didn't leave anyone out, as I was just looking at the ones the have received significant playing time on varsity. I look for great things from that class....

I agree mostly but remember that Taylor was injured in the Pikeville game last year and when he returned in the playoffs he wasn't nearly as effective as he was earlier in the year. I think the experience the sophomores have gained will help tremendously in round 3 and when we play a full healthy 11 on defense.

Also, Jarrod Harrington will likely not be released to practice until Thursday at the earliest.

Common wisdom has it that Boyle is somewhat of a paper tiger. Lots of very experienced (i.e., old) fans have told me that they are not the "Boyle of old."

Don't get me wrong . . . I would LOVE to see Boyle shut up Bell County (again) this year, but if they do, many many knowledgeable people will be surprised.

Best of luck.

I won't be surprised but I understand why Bell is the favorite.

Opinions, opinions.you have yours, and i have mine.it seems like some of the Rebel fans just love to disagree.i still think when healthy they are as good as last year.thats my opinion, and im sticking to it.i guess you think we were better on offense last year to.:eyeroll:
