What I am talking about is that Eagle supporters on here are trying to take unwarranted jabs at Paintsville and their new coach. My answer is yes.
And I have heard that JC WILL be starting at least 2-3 8th graders and probably should, but why get on here and post something ignorant about another team? When your own team is going to do what you are making jokes about of another team.
I doubt very seriously if Paintsville starts an 8th grader this year. With the exception of maybe on the mound against a weaker opponent.

"MOJO" Wrote:You never cease to amaze me either. Not only do you have it out for the adults of Paintsville, you have it out for the kids of Paintsville. No one said oh they are world beaters, they won the state title. I think any time any team on any level wins a state title it is something to be proud of. Let those kids enjoy it instead of always riding them down. Those are the same teams, players and coaches from Paintsville who have been so close or in the championship every year down at state. They fell short a couple of times so the kids keep playing until they finally acheive the goal of state champs. I can't remember of too many teams around this area beating on a Paintsville All-Star team, yes they have lost a few but it's rare they lose before state tournament. So these kids keep on playing, other decide to just focus on playing high school ball. Know what that shows me maybe the kids of Johnson County may have a little grit in their crawl, and aren't going to give up until they acheive their goal. Many of these same kids who play on these All-Star teams play High School baseball. For instance, let's look here Grimm, Vanhoose and Sublett from Paintsville all played on the Senior League all-star team but yet played high school as well seeing significant varsity action. Same thing with Johnson Central they had a few who pulled double duties for All-Stars. Fyffe and Richardson are the two that come to mind. These kids are not scrubs, and even in the real world of baseball. Fyffe is one of the most dominating pitchers in the 15th, has a good bat and a glove in the field and Sublett is considered one of the top power hitters in the 15th and a very good fielder. You know I think traveling leagues are good and yes they would kill any all-star team. Think about it this way, they pull players from various areas to play and they are usually good players. So of course they would dominate most all-star teams. Maybe some kids have other obligations where they can't be on a traveling squad or maybe their family doesn't want to dish out the cash to travel that much or maybe they just want to be close to home where they can relax before they go back to school. It seems to me you got a chip on your shoulder against the folks of Paintsville. YOu can laugh at the mommies, make fun of the daddies and rag on BMR and Tucker Howard all you want but don't bring the kids of Johnson County down. We're proud to have two state champs in the same year, even if it were in hopscotch. Get over it.Who ragged on Tucker? I just said that I wouldn't want his job. Wasn't putting the kids down at all. Just putting things in perspective . Louisa's Junior League has a couple of state championships as well the last couple of years. It's a nice honor in a way, but it just dont mean what it used to years ago , because it is a very weak watered-down organization right now. I really wouldn't be surprised to see it disbanded very shortly. It's not just in Kentucky either, it is nationwide. Little League at this level anyways, is pretty much on it's way out in my opinion.

ChillyWilly, I could have been wrong about what you said and misunderstood. For that I appologize. As for the Junior-Senior league being watered down and coming to an end I can see that as well. With more combines, camps, kids playing multiple sports, and traveling squads, most kids don't have the time to dedicate to the Little League All-Stars like they use to. Not that this is a bad thing because like you said some kids who can't make varsity get a chance to show their skills and shine during all-star play and the reasons for other kids not playing is giving those kids more opportunities.

If Williams can go behind the plate that will be BIG. I also think that Pugh is the best option at SS, I dont like moving around your SS's and seeing how JD will be one of your best pitchers it makes more sense to not mess with the middle of the field if you can keep from it. The Humphreys kid I dont know that much about, he may very well be the best Cf if so, the better. I'm sure Tucker will do fine, he's got big shoes to fill so we need to be patient.

Uhhhhhhh.....from people very close to the Eagle program!
Dillon Baldwin at second base, and Jeremy Stacy in the outfield. Both are very capable IMO. I see nothing wrong with them getting starting nods, do you?
Don't get me wrong as I see nothing but good things in the future for JC's baseball program. BTW, I could also see 8th grader Taylor Smyth getting serious looks for heavy PT.

There's nothing worse than an armed chair quarterback or a bleacher riding baseball coach. Coach Howard was hired as the head coach. It was his decision to choose his assistant coaches. I think we ought to let him make all the decisions or maybe you can apply for the job the next time it comes open.

Hey tigerman2163 Bob Lyons is a class act who gives his time for the kids and does his best to do anything he can for kids in Paintsville's school system. Bob knows his role on the team and won't try to take over. His coaching might not be popular with some people but he knows what he is talking about so either grow up and keep your mouth shut or just don't post because you obviously don't have a clue what you are talking about. I mean honestly why would you get on here and bash a man that has given so much. You really need to consider growing up it would be for the best!

This thread is about Paintsville Baseball '06 & Who do we think will start and where? I wish all the irrelevant posts could be erased in this thread. Baseball @ Paintsville is positive and upbeat, with many fine young men returning and a corp of new talent heading into this new season and new look! I applaude all the boys, who made Baseball their only sport and I URGE MANY OTHERS TO LOOK TO MAKING BASEBALL THEIR ONLY FOCUS as it's been proved by several other players in the past @ Paintsville, being DEVOTED TO ONE SPORT PAYS HUGE DIVIDENDS! We're expecting great things! Good Luck Tigers in 2006, there's gonna be a whole entourage following you, supporting you, and having a great time supporting you! :Cheerlead

There's a ton of talent on this team, so much so, that everyone has to know his place, understand about waiting one's turn, and sometimes having to sit the bench for the good of the team. I doubt you'll hear much bellyaching because everyone has great respect for one another, has played together as All-Stars, or have played together on winning LL teams as they've grown up. Everyone pretty much knows what is what and knows they'll get their turn when it's time. It's up to them to deliver and they know @ Paintsville if you can't deliver there's always someone waiting right there, ready to do some delivering of their own:thumb: !
