This should be a game that is decided by less then ten points. People might not like to think that Perry Central is a team that can hang with a top 20 squad, but they have and can do it again here. Cornett has provided some valuable playing time lately for the 'Dores displaying his size and muscle. He could pose as a big problem for Taylor Newsome and the SV big's. As someone said above, Hatcher is one of the better coaches in EKY and should have a nice game-plan to slow down the SV guards and try to play at a slower tempo like he likes.
The press of Shelby Valley will be a problem for PCC as it has been all year for their opponents. Justice should get some steals and easy transition baskets off a few forced turnovers as a result of the press. If Shelby Valley has a poor game shooting then this game will be close and may even result in a Commodore win. If SV shoots the ball well, this could be a 15+ victory for the Wildcats.
I'll take SV by 8 on the road.

I think valley will really have to play hard in this one the reasons are for 1 pc is a very good team and plays real well together 2 this game is at pc and i have seen enough games there to know the refs will really favor pc with that being said even if it is a fairly called game i think it will be a very close game no matter where it is being played both teams are really talented and plays real hard thay are truly 2 of the best in mts. but i will say shelby valley in a very close hard fought game. valley by 5 go wildcats

I agree with most of your post. Cornett will have his way with SV's bigs but Valleys press should give PCC problems since we really only have one ball handler. However, there's noway in **** Valley wins by 15+. Perry has played good teams and there worst defeat was by 5. Perry is not a 15th region team Valley can blowout. This winner will win this one by 5 or less.

This one could very easily be 15+ in favor of Shelby Valley. Why? Well, one of the reasons were just stated by you -- PCC only has one ball handler in their arsenal in Jordan Amis. SV's guards will attack the guards of PCC and make them put the ball on the floor which could lead to some turnovers (we all know how SV takes advantage of scoring off of turnovers).
The question is, will SV shoot a good percentage from the field? That will be the difference in the game in my opinion. I also really don't know if Cornett will "have his way" with the SV big men. Double teams will come and I'm not sure if Cornett will be able to pass the ball out to Noble and the other shooters. He is a very young, slower player that is just developing his post skills. I seen him play once and wasn't too impressed, but I realize he is coming on as of late for the 'Dores.
Perry has played every team they lost to closely as you said (including top 10 Christian County). The 'Dores could very easily win this game. Don't get me wrong.
Still yet, I stand by my prediction.

Noway either team wins this by 10+. Valley's full court and perimeter defense is impressive, but there interior defense is not, that's why Cornett/Martin/Saylers could do some damage. The game will be slowed down and the press won't be used as much as it would on Valleys comrades in the 15th. We'll definitely have to agree to disagree

The key for PCC is for them to slow the tempo and take SV out of their game (which is the fast-break). If they can do this, they have a real shot. Hatcher is one of the better coaches we have here in the Mountains and is very capable of implementing this. Coach Booher better have the Wildcats prepared for a slower game if PCC gets control of the pace.
I agree that PCC does have somewhat of an advantage on the interior. Cornett and Salyers need to go for big numbers and win the battle of the boards against Hatfield, Newsome, and the other big's for Valley.

If Perry can handle Christian Co.'s press they will be fine.

I watcher Perry and SV over the summer and Perry led for the majority of the game. PC lost a player due to injury and SV was able to pull out the victory. I think there is very little difference between these two teams. I won't be surprised at all to see PCC come away with the win...

Christian Co's press was not impressive. They had to call it off against SV because it was leading to too many opportunities on the offensive end for SV...

i am going to take valley in a barn burner. pcc is a very good team and imo better than knott. it is just very hard to go into knott and win. i have played there many times and the refs always are horrible. you have to be 20 points better to beat them there. but it is like that in most places in the 14th. so valley will have to bring everything they got but i still take them because pcc won't be able to press them and pcc only has one ball handler.

Well it's more challenging for Perry to face since we only have one guard out on the floor 99% of the time. Players like Justice and Whitaker are one man press breakers and it just burns you to press teams with guards like that.

I know SV lost Adams and Tacket.

Perry lost Klay Maggard(6'5 foward) and (6'2 foward)Deron Amis.
Perry returned 2 starters(Amis and Noble) and Cory Martin from Hazard transferred over.
Tyler Mullins was 6th man last year he starts this year, he's the most athletic player in the 14th. Dillion Cornett(6'8 center) has the last starting spot.

Thanks.
I remember watching Martin against Holmes last year at Holmes. Nice ball player. Does a lot of things that don't show up in the box score.

I agree about this summer the player lost was salyers and Perry was leading by I think about 6pts. when he went down with a concussion late in the game with SV winning by 2. Hatcher has moved Cornett into the starting lineup and it has improve PCC big time with Salyers giving PCC a spark off the bench. I don't think SV can stop big Dillion down low and with him and Tyler and Josh PCC should control the boards and stop SV fast break.

How tall is the Cornett kid someone said he was about 6'8. And also I think I read somewhere that against Christain Co. the Salyers kid got about 18rbs. and then the Mullins kid against another team got about 15rbs. If so with a kid that big in Cornett and rebounders like Salyers and Mullins PCC should by far control the boards.

I'll tell u Big Dillion is 6'8" and since he has been move into the starting line up he has proven to be the best big man in the region. Mullins and Salyers for their size is real good rebounders. It's nothing for Dillion or Tyler or Josh to come up on any given night to have 10-15 pts and 10-12rbs and just about every game 1 of these players come up with them numbers. If you watch Tyler and Josh goes after every rebound and most of the time they end up fighting each other for it. Rebounding and Free Throws and defense is what wins games and PCC does 2 of the 3 better than any team in the region.
