There's no way the 10th region belongs in the same breath as the ridiculously tough 7th this year. Here's how I would put it:

In-their-own-galaxy tier: 7th

Strong tier: 9th, 11th

Solid tier: 2nd, 4th, 6th, 10th

Mediocre tier: 1st, 3rd, 5th, 8th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th

I would pretty much agree with your assessment. However, I would put the 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th in the basement all by themselves. Shelby Valley would probably be near the middle or a little below the middle of the pack in the 7th. No one else east of Winchester is remotely that close.

You know Aslan a they talk about the Mt. teams being weak lets start by saying that Sv and PCC played Christain Co. right to the wire, PCC beat Clark Co. in the last game of Per. Season and Knott Co. beat Mc. Centreal and we both know that PCC has played right with the teams from Lex. and Louisville in tourn. early in the yr. with Hatcher's offenese that is what the state tourn. is about, can't wait to see what happens.

Talk about way off base. As far as the 7th region Breathitt lost by 3 to a top team in that region, Moore. So your statement does not add up.

Actually Moore would be ranked about 6-7 in the 7th and I believe the game was at Breathitt Co. so on a neutral floor I bet they win by more.

What makes you say that the 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 8th get to be rated ahead of the mountain regions? I don't see that. Each of the regions I placed in the bottom tier have 1-2 top-level teams, but don't have the depth to match.

And I completely disagree that SV would be middle of the pack in the 7th, much less below the middle. With 16 teams in the region, "middle of the pack" would seem to represent the 8th and 9th best teams in that region, who I would consider to be Male and Fern Creek. And I would definitely put SV above them.

The 7th is so loaded with talent it's hard to get a handle on who's the best. You can make a case for so many teams. Ballard and Trinity split their two games and both were close. I wouldn't bet bet the ranch on it! Especially since GRC beat Ballard. GRC has a good team but I would have thought they'd have lost to Ballard.

The Shelby Valley win was a good one, however I have never seen a bigger blown lead like the Clay County game. PCC has talent but at the dawg house I don't see them going anywhere.. Specially when they play Hazard.
