Is feardotcom the one that people are hooked up to stuff and the more people that log onto the site, the faster they die or something? My uncle was watching a movie that had that storyline a few days ago but I didn't catch the name of it.

Speaking of scary movies, were people actually afraid in like 1958/1959 (can't remember which) when the movie The Blob came out? I just can't imagine anyone taking it seriously but a "blob" has been a recurring theme in horror stories.

Probably, only because they thought they were supposed to be scared. I think that we get accustomed to whatever our technology is at the time. To me, the Chevy Chase Vacation movies are the greatest, but my kids think they are stupid.

I'll add "Orphan" to the list. It was more of a suspense than horror, but it had a pretty good twist at the end.

When a Stranger Calls - 1979
Had one of the most chilling scenes in this movie.
Most of my others are already listed.

I like that movie Silent Hill! It was kinda new age and had some weird spooky stuff in it. The original Chainsaw Massacre is still hard to beat...
