Shelby Valley 2009-2010

new o Wrote:No offense but Elliot will not even be in contention for the 16th regional title next year. They have some good young kids coming up in the 5th and 6th grades. But they will take some beatings next year.

They will compete in the 16th and the 16th will be better than the 15th next year.:flame:

HAHa, not gonna happen next year. Elliot lost alot of talent, its really gonna hurt them next year

Like others have mentioned, Valley will only have 5 main guys returning from this year's team. I fully expect Tyler Newsome and Cody Varney to move into the starting lineup, but all 5 will have to be iron men if a couple bench guys don't step up.

One concern to me is Varney. He is a very talented player, but tends to get in foul trouble quickly. When you are coming off the bench that's fine, but if he is going to be a starter next year he needs to learn to avoid the fouls. I think he could be a great player next year if he can stay on the floor.

Who will step in the C spot for valley or wll they go with a smaller lineup?
Also are they any incoming freshman who will could make an impact?

I know Dorton had a big boy Cody Belter? is his name if Im not mistaken, but if Im not mistaken he is just a 7th grader. Can he come up and contirbute? Is it allowed? Does Virgie have any one coming in? Just a few questions a few of us were discusing?

I heard Timmy Knipp from Elliott is considering SV

I called out to SV school this morning, they said that Elliott County has nothing to do with any team in the 15th region basketball next year. Stop pulling them in every thread.

Are there any workouts or anything going on for incoming freshman who want to play basketball at Valley next year? My son didn't go to Virgie or Dorton, but is going to Valley for high school.

They have a lot of open gyms and weightlifting during the offseason. You can contact coach Booher on the global address list.

Excuse me, I predicted the first SV Elliott county game to be a loss for SV(by 10+ to be exact), I'm a confident SV fan, but not a crazy one.

Valley should have a great showing next season, starting 5 Seniors I believe? And of course they return Elisha Justice, a MR. Basketball candidate.

No. if anywhere Knipp would go to one of the Carter county schools (where he is originally from) He wouldnt transfer that far I dont believe.

They should do pretty good next year. And it always helps to have a Mr. Basketball candidate on your side.

When did he move to Elliott? He has been there as long as I can remember? He would be a good fit for SV though.

Ain't that the truth. LoL

I heard from a good source that Knipp is being asked to come to Pike Central with the deal with Hatcher. If the Boe of Pike County wants him then he will be at PCC.

So if the BOE wants Knipp at PCC he will be there? No way that happens. The Knipp to SV rumor sounded crazy to me, but this is beyond that one. Players transfer all the time to places like Scott County, but not to places like SV and PCC from 2+ hours away. If Knipp was from a closer place, maybe.

I agree

SV is getting a tansfer or two dont worry, but you all are totally off on the player. SV is getting two young ones. The definitely maybe is another guard from region 14 and the big man is from right here in the region and will be their backbone when Justice is gone.

top 5 in the state possible

Tyler Newsome will add a great scoring addition to Valley. Elisha scores 20+. Tyler Newsome was showing how he could play at Rupp. He came off the bench and out scored 4/5 starters. They lost 3 good seniors. Tyler Newsome will fill one of their spots.

Cody Varney will also be a great playmaker. He plays very hard defense which will intimidate some players. He also came off the bench and made some awesome plays (Loads of and 1's). I say he steps up into Logan Bryant's spot and shows that he can help Valley.

Big man in the region?

There are none.

I think he is referring to McClanahan. Also, Tate Cox has been mentioned again. Personally I don't see either happening. Also, I've heard the Timmy Knipp to GRC rumor and it makes pretty good sense because most of their top players are also juniors-to-be...
