Totally agree.
Noble all the way.

JBS would not have won 5 games without Hovee. Noble is good but Hovee is JBS team.
I think Noble is a good player, however if you just write the stats down on paper and you give them to someone outside of this region who is going to be the better player.

Very good player she would be of my top choices.

Kendall Noble, after all she has lead Breathitt to 50 strait wins in the 14th region and back to back state tournament appearances. Has Hovee done that?

Hovee isn't surrounded by the type of players that Breathitt has. She should be in the conversation of POY but it is Noble's for now.

C.Clair Wrote:Hovee doesnt even compare. Kendell is a freshmen, Hovee is a senior correct. Okay now, Kendell could have a triple double every night if she wanted to easliey! Its like watching a women play agianst girls when she takes on people in the 14th region. Kendell has a termindous upside and your crazy if you would take this Hovee girl over her.
You are not correct...Hovee is not a senior. She is a junior. As always someone will start a thread about a particular player on one team then fans from another team will try to get recognition for their player and then start saying why their player is better than other player. Well anyway, all I know is that Hovee is about 6'3" who usually gets 20+ points and rebounds per game and occasionally gets a triple double. Even though she is 6'3" she usually brings the ball down when a team presses. She will get many college offers and will be able to chose from a number of colleges when the time comes. I am sure the girl from Breathitt that you are talking about is a fine player but you dont have to tear down one kid to praise another one. I am sure they will both play college ball somewhere and probably get their college education paid for. And for that they should be thankful...

I'd like to see some opinions about an All-Freshman team in the region. Breathitt's Kendall Noble would definitely be on it, but Owsley County's Peyton Wright would as well.
I've had several referees tell me that they think Wright is the best freshman in the region, not Noble. They're both good for sure. Wright is averaging over 20 ppg with around 12 rebounds, on a 17-9 team. I know I'd like to have them both on my team. Talk about a twosome...WOW!!! :omg:

Noble is the best player IMO for this reason. If I am not mistaking, ain't she just a freshman. She is either a freshman or a sophmore. Hovee has to improve her jump shot to be mentioned with Noble. Noble is a much better shooter and can play guard and go down low with it. She has the body of a college guard and has won 14th mvp of the region last year if I am not mistaken.

She is a freshman, but she has been playing varsity since 7th grade. She won 14th region mvp the last two years if im not mistaken.

if everyone is afraid of Maris Hovee of course she is going to look great.
pretty much every team gets out of her way because they are afraid of her, if people actually stop her you would realize she isn't the best in the world

uk96 - You are so right! Let's recognize each player for their accomplishments and be thankful for the possiblity of a college scholarship as a result.

Right both are good players but Kendall will make a great player if she keeps improving, she scored her 1000th point the other night in district game ,and only a freshman,so when your talking about the best in REGION ,its got to be KENDALL NOBLE!!

Paige Slone - a great player from Cordia is approaching her 1000th point, and she's in eighth grade. Does this now make her the best player in the region? There are a lot of factors that need to be examined. Letcher Central also has some excellent players that have gone unmentioned in this thread.

VERY GOOD POINT. Just because of the point they score does not show if they are the best in the region.(I do think Paige is top 5)Hovee needs to work on her shot. When she improves for next year, then we should have this topic again.

Kudo's to all these young athletes and but when you think of Kendall Noble and the possibilities of taking her school(Breathitt Co.) to a possible 3 peat to state now thats great, she(Kendall) could make it 4-5-6 trips to state from 14th Region,... and in 55th District Championship game last evening she was hitting 3's and scoring at will had 21 points and coach rested her,but folks there gave her the MVP and she didnt play a quarter and half so she has to be the best in REGION,thats KENDALL NOBLE!!!!

Are you talking about the game v. Wolfe Co. where Breathitt had 91 points? Sounds like the TEAM had a great game. Kendall's a great player, but she is, and has been, surrounded by other talented players as well. To indicate that she is the one responsible for "taking her school" to state is misleading.

Hillary Moore from Leslie Co. deserves some consideration.
Also, Freshman Tamara Crawford has to be one of the best Freshmen in the 14th region.

Let's not forget Letcher County Central is having an awesome year with a very young team!!! I certainly wouldn't count them out yet before declaring Breathitt regional champs again!!!
