CHANNING FUGATE Hands down best RB and probably the best player overall when he plays to is ability !!!
10-20-2008, 09:59 AM
I think Fugate is the best back in the Mountains.
Just some observations:
Hunter Adams is the best athlete in this talked about group.
Demetri Travis is the fastest player in the mountains, Hands down.
Heres some of the backs we've played this year. Any of these names sound framiliar?
Fugate (Breathitt; 1st scrimmage)
Wagner (Lynn Camp; Week 1)
Watts (McCreary; Week 3)
Adams (Middlesboro; Week 5)
Travis (PCC; Week 8)
Watkins and Campbell (Corbin; Will Play Week 9)
Greer (Bell; Will Play Week 10)
Not to mention the Qb's we've played.
Lewis (Clay; Week 2)
Banks (Letcher Central; Week 6)
Amis (PCC; Week 8)
Zachary (Bell; Week 10)
Adrian Wardrup (North Laurel; Week 11)
So we've seen some of the top talent around, for sure.

Chase Richardson & Nate Dillion are by far the best i have seen this year i mean Chase had like 260 some odd yards on like 9 touches. Against hazard, now i dont kno about everyone else but i though cause of all the hype it was goin to be alot better game then what it was!

after what fugate did to LCA last week putting up them crazy numbers. my hat goes off to him.
10-20-2008, 12:20 PM
Channing had a total of 450 yards with about 425 of those rushing and 6 touchdowns against LCA last week. Thats pretty amazing to me.

I think Hayes from Rockcastle is very underrated. He's a great Linebacker too. Why is there never any talk of Rockcastle on here? Are they not considered the mountains or just nobody from there posts here?

Gator Wrote:NO WAY! Richardson & Dillon play against better competition, totally outplayed Fugate from Breathitt and Greer from Bell Co. head to head when they met and are bigger and stronger than Doderer.A joke to even compare him with these backs. JC has 6 backs better than Doderer!
I've seen the kid play a lot over the years and i know what im talking about. The kid is a player, just doesnt play on a good team. 6 backs better then him? Now thats a joke! lol Im not saying Dillon and Richardson arent good players..i think they are both good. I just seen the speed that doderer has and i know how dangerous he would have been if he would have stayed in the county school system and had a chance to run behind the line that we've got. Credit should definitely be given to Coach Burchett because his o-line is doing an excellent job. Fugate from Breathitt is a tough player and is in a smaller class then JC and your basing things on Spencer Greer from seeing him in a scrimmage game, so i really dont think thats a fair assessment on either of those guys.

i belive that Kyle Howell from South Floyd is a good RB..i belive that he has over 1,000 rushing yards on the season for a team that isnt very good that is good

For your information I have watched him play twice this season. Dont get me wrong he is a good back, but I just wouldnt go as far as best in the mountains.

If...Then Wrote:Daniel Harmon (Pikeville)
-Fast and can break your ankles, Great team leader
Ivan Lee (Belfry)
-Plays dirty but I like his style. Runs the ball fast and hard
Channing Fugate (Breathitt County)
-All around good player, He'd could play QB if he wanted. lol
First of all, I have watched just about every play Ivan Lee has participated in in his career, and he has never once done anything that I have, even remotely, considered dirty. Second, Thomas Varney is one of the best all-around backs in this part of the state. His yards-per-carry average is unreal, and he loves to hit and he is also a fantastic receiver and kicker. Taking away any Belfry backs, give me Dillon and Richardson with a healthy Daniel Harmon, and I will take my chances against anyone.

Chase ritchardson and Nathon dillon form JC are dominating but the line has a big part in that there really good. If shane pack from lawrence county was on a descent team he would be on everyones list but no1 can get anything done at LC
10-21-2008, 09:19 PM
Thomas Varney may be the best kept secret in the mountains. This kid can move, loves to hit, and more importantly, he fits the smashmouth personality of the Belfry offense. Also, Allen Craynon from Prestonsburg is solid, although he is coming off an injury. I also like the Channing Fugate. He gets the job done over at Breathitt. We are lucky to have so much talent in the mountains.

UK wasnt at Breathitts last game. They have expresed intrest in him but hasnt seen him play. Plus there is NO WAY that his parents let him go to Tenn. His dad is a die hard UK fan. From what Channings dad was telling me is that he has his sights on UK if they do offer.

You might wanna talk to someone else then because the kid hasnt even gotten a letter from anyone! Now thats from the horses mouth! From what I have been told, Channing went last year to a senior camp that UK had but that has been it. Noone has contacted the coaches or his parents from either school. But you also said that the Hazard/ JCHS game would be a game lol. Just joking around man.

Channing is 6 foot 2 and 220 lbs.

well, ive played against doderer since he played at central elementary lol and the guy is ballplayer against 1a competition but c'mon, there isnt a fair way you can say he is better than dillon and richardson when he doesn have the stats they have and he is playing alot easier competition, guys let's discuss facts, not opinions
10-26-2008, 06:36 PM
Caleb Watkins is 6'1" and weighs 200lb.
10-26-2008, 11:42 PM
Yeah I also see Channing going D1. But Im not sure as a running back. Alot of the running backs you see now a days are under 6 foot. Channing is 6 foot 2 and 220 lbs. He would make on heck of a linebacker at UK!

Fugate is a real talent... haven't seen many better this season
