Thats exactly what Eric Ratliff when ER played Haysi the other day....lol

Congrats Gate City on a great win

Must have been a bad played game because Valley won by 23 at home. I know some of the players are sick, I don't think Jake Bryant even stayed at school all day Friday, neither did Jonah Justice, so Gate City got Valley at just the right time to lay it to them. Congrats to Gate City and don't worry about this one Valley, get to feeling better and go spank the next team on the schedule for this loss.

Just curious as to if you are allowed to play in sports on the night that you miss part of a day of school. Here, if you are tardy or dont stay for the day then you cant practice or play in a game that night. Is that rule a city rule or is it a rule by the KHSAA?

That wouldn't apply here, the game was on a Saturday and they missed some school Friday.

I've never seen a high school coach blame a loss to a reporter on the refs. He may believe it but he wouldn't put it in the papers.

Well, I don't know where you've been. It happens all the time. Never is a big word. I get sick of hearing all the complaining about the referees. I really just thought it was funny because BBallonlyfan often comments on the aspects of Valley outside of the game, but seldom about the game itself.

Can you tell us a coach or a article in a newspaper or anything where a COACH told a reporter it was the refs reason that a team lost? I agree with you that it happens all the time on here. The reason I didnt comment on this game is because I was not at this game. I made 2 comments about posts that others have made that I assumed was there.

Well refs or not, Valley must not have played that well to have had a 30 point swing from the last game. Anyway, it doesn't count for anything so who cares? Valley, like all other teams can lose if they play bad or are ill.. They have been beat this year you know. No need to get on here and make excuses for them. There are bad calls in all games, some more than others. So just get back in sync and move on to the next game.

As an example, Paintsville should only have one loss this year. BUT it is not the refs fault that they have lost 3. Not to say there weren't bad calls in every game, but they just didn't play their best and lost. That's the way it goes sometimes.

30 point swing may have something to do with Gate City playing the state championship in football and started basketball late and only played just couple of games prior. We look so much better if we just say we got beat and let's learn from this and use it to our advantage. I am sick of ref this ref that.
