Question for the Pikeville guys. I was surprised to see how the game with Boyd Co went. Until that game I would have said Sayre was better than Boyd. What happened at BC? Is Boyd better upfront than many thought, was pressure hard to get on Holbrook? Weather will play a huge factor in the match up with Sayre and likely be in Pikevilles favor. I’m just curious to see what Pikeville people think about seeing a team come out and throw the ball 40 times. Bc that’s what I think Sayre will try to do.

You are exactly right. They have to throw and throw it a lot. To answer your question: Injuries. Lots of injuries. Panthers would have beaten Boyd by more if they had their guys. Not taking anything away from Boyd. Was their senior night and they played hard. Pikeville played some guys out of position just to get through that game and gave up some scores because of it. Boyd ran back a kick for a score too. Boyd appears bigger up front, at the LB spots, and more physical than Sayre. Secondary will be much different this game for Pikeville. Pikeville should get a player back this week and rumors of 1-2 more the next two weeks if they win.

Sounds like Sayre has one legitimate WR that could be a problem. Is it not as simple as doubling him with 2 secondary players and have your best DB on their #2 receiver? And then just rush for 500 yards on offense?

Sayre wont be able to handle the run game from Pikeville aswell as the return of a few key defensive studs for the panthers. Like for example, number 7 Deonte Stevens and number 8 Jacob Brown. The only concern I have with Pikeville is Cole Slone still being out. Sayre is terribly overrated and Chad Pennington is only know because of Randy Moss. Another worry I have for Pikeville is number 64 getting thrown out. That kid has a terrible attitude and bad rage issues.

If Pikeville uses the same play calling they used against Boyd co. They will roll right on through . They played loose , fast, and energetic that game , it  definitely had a different look to it. I don’t think Sayre is ready for what Pikeville is bringing , too many weapons and too physical. But , if they go back to the play calling from earlier in the season , that’ll make the task a little  tougher . Either way  the Panthers win, by how much is to be determined.  But a win is all that matters at this point for any of the teams left .

Uh, you do realize that Chad Pennington played 10 years in the NFL and at one time was the only player in NFL history to win comeback player of the year twice?

#64 has all the potential in the world size,speed,strength but he needs to stay focused on the game and if you watch films you will understand what I am saying but he definitely is a game changer

At this point I hope Pikeville beats Sayre like a drum. The game with Raceland last year wasn’t as close as the score indicated and I left that game unimpressed. I think Pikeville runs for atleast 400 and wins by 4 or 5 scores. Sayre doesn’t have the grit to play with teams that can run the rock.
