Bell Co. Open?
#31
Different principal in place. That could help.

Not really, if you know this principal you know what I mean.

We don’t have the number region championships to show for it but Bell has been a good basketball school for a long time. Coach Strange and Whitaker both had several great teams, but couldn’t get over the hump. But they contended for the region a bunch. Morris won a region, but didn’t do much else. The problem with him and Smith is they have had a lot of their best players quit or transfer. If Sizemore can keep our best players out for the team that will help.
#34
Is it official? Sizemore the coach at Bell?
#35
Is Sizemore a done deal?
#36
Just waiting on School Board to approve tenure and the hire at an amazing stipend of 26,500 on top of teaching salary. If we pay the basketball coach that, I can't even make a guess to what Dudley makes. :yikes::yikes:

Seemed like a dumb move to leave North to come. To Bell. Laurel is a much better place to live. Has great young talent. Everyone knows the politics in Bell is worse than anywhere around. I didn’t realize he would make that much money. I guess that is a trade off for that kind of money. I have to give Bell credit - they may have poor administration running their school system but they do pay their coaches well and make sure they are taken care of with a good jobs. Most school systems don’t do that anymore.
#38
Isn’t Sizemore’s wife from there? Heard her dad was mayor and she is getting a big nice job with the schools also.
By the way, $26,500....WOW
#39
If it is Sizemore, our district gets really tough.. JMO Bell has a good Principal, but working for a down town..
#40
I word is they have an administrator down town making a lot of decisions that has no administration experience what so ever. I think it has hurt Bell’s system. If not his fault he just has no experience. The principal at the HS does have experience.

Brad Sizemore has been the epitome of kids quitting or transferring, he will consistently bring middle school kids up and run upperclassman off and you will have no multi sport athletes playing basketball. There have been numerous kids leave for surrounding schools because of him only to come back as starters and beat his butt. Good luck I couldn't be happier for Bell!

Dudley Hilton is a coaching legend he's worth every penny spent and the result speaks volumes, Brad Sizemore has done nothing to warrant that kind of money

Coach Sizemore will need multi-sport athletes at Bell. Especially football players. He has no other choice here.
#44
Sounds like someone has a mouth full of sour grapes about their kid not being a good player. It’s not a good look honestly.

That is not a concern here at Bell, we don't have near that kind of talent. We are lucky if our sophs and juniors can play. This is NOT a basketball school, Dudley will remind him of that very quickly. There is an underlying factor that is not know to most, their relationship is doomed from the start. Good luck

Typical response from one of the palace guard around NL athletics, nice try but my son is baseball only he never tried to play basketball for Brad most kids at North who play other sports don't. Say what you want but from middle school to high school our athletic programs are prime examples of what not to do in high school athletics, from the policies in place to the people running them. Our current boys coaches in all the big three sports should be called the three stooges, with the wealth of talent they've continually had, mismanaged, or ran off they should've been hanging some banners. Maybe we're just not paying enough in school taxes to hire competence!!

I'd say it couldn't happen to a better guy, you can keep the good luck if your a Bell Co. fan your gonna need it if this hire goes through.

you can't have a gripe with him from last year they had no business beating south and did so with a 8th grader running point

Hahahahahahahaha... That's not your typical 8th grader and was most likely the best player on the court. He's also the most likely reason that Brad Sizemore is ready to shag ass outta London. His Dad is a resource most programs would love to have but go figure the people at NL even figured out a way to screw that up.
#50
BTW to clarify here I love the parents and kids around the NL school system even some of the administrators but I'm tired of mediocrity, the talent is here to do something special but there's constant road blocks for the kids if not inadequate coaching its an athletic director that does anything but direct.

Bell Co has set an announcement for new coach @1:00 Friday. If it is Sizemore it will be a big upgrade for the Bobcats.
#52
Yep yep yep
#53
Congratulations on Sizemore hiring being final. A lot of young talent to work with.
#54
can’t wait to see what coach does with the boys .. we finally have someone in here who can do something
#55
Had someone who could do something, but ran him off to Middlesboro.
#56
He had several down years in a row at Bell and couldn’t get his best players to play.
#57
Interested in seeing how this Bell team does. The team they have now went to North Laurel and beat them. Sizemore was the coach there and had kids that signed to play college. Was Smith really that bad or too many players/parents pouting?
#58
The team that beat North last year had Collett and Partin and a couple good players quit after that. I was told because of the coach’s antics. This team won’t be as talented as last year or atleast as experienced.
#59
I agree, but I was just talking about that team beating his team and N.L. a region favorite. Plus it being at N.L.
#60
North Laurel was 12-1 I believe at home and the only loss being.....you guessed it Bell.
