IMO HC will have to play a great game to get a win over there. If either team has 2 plus turnovers they will be in trouble. I havent seen the good running back LC has, look forward to seeing what he looks like.
look across the field Friday night and you will see a coach with 3 state championships

We won't be able to look across the field and see him if he was tossed in the last game
10-01-2014, 01:22 AM
Was he ejected from a game?
10-01-2014, 01:40 AM
He was in their last game

A couple players that come to mind off the top of my head are John Rader who played lb at Ky and Channing Fugate who played at TN and then transferred to EKU I believe. They also had some great QB's at Breathitt under Holcomb who played college football including the new 2014 first yr coach at Corbin - (Haddix) Breathitt's program was much more than just legit under Holcomb, it was TREMENDOUS to put it mildly. Probably one of the most impressive runs ever by a mountain football team while Holcomb was there!!! Hats off to the the guy and the Breathitt program during that era........

My point is I was wondering since I didn't know anything about them.

Why was the coach kicked out of the game
10-02-2014, 01:26 AM
Two unsportsmanlike penalties on the sideline.

Larkey has 35 years to work on some pass plays and still don't use any. Can't prove by me he knows any. This will be a good game. LCC get's win.

And how many games has whitley won since throwing it all over the place?
10-02-2014, 02:42 PM
The Bears have played a brutal schedule this year. It will now pay off in district competition. Letcher will probably keep it close for a while, but the Black Bears pull away late.
Harlan County 34
Letcher Central 20

One of those titles came when the dog whipped Corbin Haddix sr year I believe the score was either 50-0 or 50-6.
Besides that what does it matter who they beat once you get to the championship games all the teams are tough!!

Aaron Anderkin in 2001 was a passing quarterback:
172 of 269 for 2,773 yards and 41 touchdowns

HDE, do you know how many passes we've attempted this year as opposed to the teams we were playing??
10-02-2014, 11:20 PM
I wish both Larkey and Holcomb the best of luck...I know both of them and I am a sexting and texting score board for Granny Bear...

Harlan County 2014
Passing- 9 of 36 for 199 Yards
Rushing- 271 Attempts 1408 yards
89% Run
11% Pass
Defense
1358 Rushing Yards Allowed
621 Passing Yards Allowed
Harlan County usually has one player close to 1400 yards by this time, or a duo of backs with this.
Im not going to go threw posting all the stats of years past, but heres a look at the run/pass of previous years..
2013
552 Rush Attempts for 4044 Yards
68 Pass attempts for 681 yards
90% Run
10% Pass
2012
701 Rush Attempts for 5121 Yards
63 Pass attempts for 627 yards.
92% Run
8% Pass
2011
655 Rush Attempts for 4,671 Yards
84 Pass Attempts for 955 Yards
89% Run
11% Pass
2010
688 Rush Attempts for 4,262 Yards
59 Pass Attempts for 455 Yards
93% Run
7% Pass
2009
589 Rush Attempts for 3060 Yards
74 Pass Attempts for 289 Yards
89% Run
11 % Pass
Larkey has never thrown the ball more than 11% while at HC.
As for HC's opponents this year...
Bryan Station
95 Rush/160 Pass
62% Pass 48% Run
Clay County
154 Rush/69 Pass
70% Run 30% Pass
Belfry
197 Rush/22 Pass
90% Run 10% Pass
Knox Central
192 Rush/73 Pass
72% Run 28% Pass
Johnson Central
181 Rush/29 Pass
87% Run 13% Pass
Just for reference, Harlan County has struggle much more against the pass this year than any other.
Also, just to throw this out there....
Whitley County 2014
100 Pass Attempts for 1019 Yards
164 Rush Attempts for 719 Yards
62% Run 38% Pass
HC struggled with BS balanced attack. If Whitley can learn to tackle and somewhat stop the run before the two meet up, I see a very interesting game.
