Are the same people complaining about throwing the ball too much that were complaining about running it too much?
09-21-2014, 01:25 AM
I highly doubt anyone posting on here is a Ryle coach. It is comical. We don't throw enough, we don't run enough, Warner is too hard, Engler is too easy. Maybe people in Union need to look themselves in the mirror and ask why they are losing. I keep hearing how talented they are. Of course, as I pointed out in another post, the best team in Boone County lost to Simon by 46 the other night.

WOW Uncle Ricoh take Tina for a walk after you take off your sensitive pants. nothing in the coffee, maybe that tequila of yours is bad? Every team needs a little thunder and lightning in the backfield, and nobody is disputing your son being an explosive player on offense. While those players arent getting blocked it would be nice to find a way to get the ball in his hands on the line if in the backfield isnt working, move him around. Thats what good coaches do, find a way to put the ball in the hands of their playmakers. As for freshman stats, newsflash there arent any defenses lining up scared. Totally agree with the receivers coach and QB coaches. Really dont know how any of your post lead to being on #7 s&%#. Everything I read was about play calling,QB, O coaches, and Woolf not getting touches. I think you might be the only one translating this thread into something about your son. I know nothing I posted went there, Sorry to disappoint but I love to see your son do well. That means the TEAM is having success.

But as far as the RB #7, he is the most explosive back you have. no-one makes those runs against Conner and no one else can take it to the house from 70 out. Sorry to hurt your feelings but it's true. You want a back #36 who ran all last year and had how many yards? He's a good short yardage back but he's not your feature back. WHY don't you take one of your fastest and most elusive players #7 and bench or not give him the ball because we couldn't block 44 or 78 all night. What's the real issue with him? I smell something funny in the coffee. You guys are always on his **S. He tore it up as a freshman and will in varsity too. shut up. Get a Qb who can read and throw and your problems are solved. Get a receiver coach to teach them how to run routes and we will win. Your problem isn't who's carrying the ball. #7 and #35 can get it done. Sorry your kids aren't getting their fair share. If you are coaches and going against the grain do the team a favor and quit.
I hope they give the ball to your best player #7 every play against SK! SK will stop him in his tracks!!!!

I really don't think anyone is bashing 7 on this thread previous threads some yes... Everything I have read is speaking of a power set which Colin would not be your power back?
I'd agree on the QB situation and WR (outside Arnwine) situation.
Lastly even though I do believe 7 & 35 will play good this year and next.
I hope parents are starting to realize that Freshamn & JV don't mean s***. This senior group beat Cooper & SK as Freshman & Sophmores. The junior group as well but it matters what transfers to the Varsity level.

A combined record of 5-20... 5-0 feels special when you say it like that I guess...
And if you win Friday you'll be 6-0 against a combined 6-30. Man that's special:lolrage:

What? I don't think you should be close to the team if your are going to second guess and undermine the team. Some statements get back to the players and divide a locker room. I keep hearing the same crap from the same people about the same player. I think its funny that the coaches are wrong on positions they put kids in. You think wrong
I think right. Its not " sensitivity" . its my opinion. Just like yours, I can post what I think about what is said and I'm kinda sick of the winning. There's lots of issues going on, we have major breakdowns in blocking. We dont tackle well at times. We hold the ball to long. We run lazy routes a lot. Probably because the qb is so inaccurate. But guess what someone on that staff thinks #14 is your Qb. And #7 is your back, and the line is compromised of the best lineman. I find it funny that you think I'm insulted. My son said Collin is the strongest back he's seen so I assume he's right. I haven't seen zanything on filmin game or in person to think you have a better option. For Qb either. Your a year away from that. I seriously doubt that your coaches are stupid and you all know better. How many do you want to go through till your happy. Its not about winning . Its very apparent it's about getting you or your friend kids in the positions you think they should be. Yep we need to get better, yep we want to win. Yep glad parents dont coach.

Per khsaa website your starter last year averaged 5.6 yards per carry. Not bad.
Your starter this year 12.2. So far. ( Shelby numbers not posted) Numbers don't lie.

Let's not let the fact get in the way of a good argument.
2013:
England:
61/313, 5.13 yards p/c.
Woolf:
124/567, 4.57 yards p/c.
2014:
England:
34/335, 9.85 yards p/c,
Woolf:
7/12, 1.71 yards p/c
Bateman:
20/88, 4.4 yards p/c
So run production is the thing you want to break in order to fix? If you want to argue points you should be able to show some evidence your right! I would concentrate on the passing game. That backfield is OK. Whether you like the style of running or the kids who are doing it, your backfield is better than last year. Good job coaches. Thought the numbers might shed some light on our discussion.

I don't remember Bateman, England or Wolf being the main running back in every game last season so I think those numbers could be a little skewed. All 3 have good speed. I think what most people are getting at is that with a 1-4 record other options need to be looked at.
Mixing it up and using a few backs can keep them fresh. The Birch and Kusak kids have nice speed as well. And let's face it the only 3 kids that got post season recognition in the Enquirer & Coaches association were Mann (who we could really use this year), Ross and Wolf.

Mann and woolf received those honors for defense. Ross for offense. I believe Woolf is playing defense and Ross offense so they are playing the positions they excelled at.

STATS, assuming your agent is keeping up with them. TEAMS don't really focus on personal stats but those D1 schools are watching for sure. If your not overly sensitive I'm Rick James! As for whining I guess we should all stand beside each other in the mirror? Your posts again turned into one focal point #7. Same coaching staff with new HC and OC ? Everyone else wants this TEAM to get better also and just like you everyone has a different versions of what they see. You are the only reader that went in a different direction, and there's nothing wrong with your opinion or ours. So far your visions are 1-4. Like you said hopefully the work starts paying off soon cause for some there is no tomorrow, next year or the year after. Let's go boys, tough game ahead.
09-21-2014, 07:35 PM
That's funny. I didn' t keep the stats the team does. So if they arent an indicator why keep them.
They only aren't important when they don't support your argument of taking out the starters for who you think should be playing. Nothing good comes of going that young but blowouts. Sorry your kids will have to wait their turn. Just because they win frosh and jv games doesn't mean they can compete on Friday. News flash Ryle has dominated frosh and Jv but continue to struggle at varsity. The kids now starting were successful at frosh and jv also. This isn't about #7 its about your non support because its not your kid in there. Numbers about the production don't lie. They are what they are. The COACHES play the best players . They get to decide. That's the point. You should join the coaching staff do you can lobby for your kid. Daddy ball is gone so I don't know what to tell you . we block two kids 50% of the time we run over Shelby no matter who your guy is.

I think #7 is a great player but numbers are deceiving, All of his yards against Scott Co were against the 2's and 3's. The only good game rushing he has had was against Conner who is awful. I think if he is a feature back then we will see how he does this week against a very good SK team. I am not doubting his talents and don't know all that is going on at Ryle but I will tell you the ONLY stat that matters at least to good football TEAMS is the "W". I think this team is divided and have a lot of parent/player issues that seems to be a problem in Union. I would love nothing better to see Ryle beat SK.

I really don't understand if this is directed to me or not?
Colin is the strongest back. I don't think anyone questions he's by far your best athlete/player? I said you need a power set like the old Buffalo packge? Your best back has never been in that set (Murray, Schmidts, while Grey want usually in, Teepen, Hills, Thibedau, Mullens, Elliott wasn't always in) that's a package you don't risk hurting your best back in?
And is only used within the 10 or a 3rd/4th and 1. Which is why you'd have Wolfe as a FB Bateman as a RB on that set. Or Meiman as a FB and Wolfe at the RB.
The QB situation doesn't make sense to me, Rytlewski has improved each week and I am happy about it but from a new Head Coachs stand point you have to ride the Sophmore as you will need him to play well for 3 years while you prove you fit in this job. There play looks even to me and the senior might have better desicions but the Soph has the arm.
09-22-2014, 02:20 AM
We do need a power back set. Absolutely. We should be able to get three yards a pop at will. We have to be able to get a hat on free linebacker that seems to always find his way to the hole. No disagreement there. But as another eluded to that maybe 11 or 31 is better suited to be in than your starter is absolute nonsense. And acting like your routing for the team by sabotaging you O with sophmores who will not give you the best chance to win. Wow that's not team. PLease stop acting like it is.
09-22-2014, 03:21 AM
That other Boone teams offense is worse then Ryles!
09-22-2014, 03:41 AM
I don't think 11 or 31 should ever be on the field ahead of 7, 35, or 36 in the backfield. Definitely would benefit with a fullback putting a helmet on the free LB. only sophomore I think deserves a legitimate shot is the QB. they can all hand it off but he has a far better touch on the ball. Throws a nice deep ball also. He is a lot more athletic also. We have played 3 games that we should have won and 1 that we should have been in if not a crack at a win. The one constant in those games has been turnovers, mostly at the QB position. Are they all his fault, probably not but nonetheless they happened and crippled this team. If you truly believe we have our best chance to be successful under center then we will always agree to disagree. That's not sabotaging the O that's what any good coaching staff would look at. One things for sure I wish nothing but the best for your boy and all the others out working their butts off.
09-22-2014, 05:03 AM
Why do you have to be under center to have a second back in the backfield? I keep hearing talk about an Owen Halk offense but wasn't Ryle a mostly shotgun team in 2010 and 2011? Isn't that how the Hemple kid racked up all those yards that year on the ground? I thought Warner got away from power I football with those kids.
09-22-2014, 05:16 AM
This isn't about who is doing what. This is about a team that is not playing up to the level that they should be playing. Can't blame it on daddy ball this year. These next few games are a gut check for the players. So it doesn't matter who has the highest yard per carry, or how many completions. What matter is how the coaches and players get ready for the next game.
09-22-2014, 01:55 PM
There are many problems :
1 England is soft and 75% of his yards were vs 2-3 string in blow outs!
2 Engler choice of OC blows my mind as he was horrible at Boone and grant co so my question is only just why ????
3 this 5-2 defense that has been in place for 12 years now is really bad as it prevents very good players like Wolfe from reaching their full potential and allows lazy slow players like mieman to be exposed when he should be on the D line in the first place .
4 the most Athletic kid on the team in Gavin Byrant only touches the ball when he is giving back to the ref after making a tackle once a catch is made .
5 Cusak and wright very fast but have bodies that would be great for 7th graders
6 Engler was spoon feed QBs at LC and simply doesn't have a clue .....
Last but not least yes daddy/ buddy ball still exist in Locke mieman rich Ross Abshire Robbie lol just to name a few . SK unlike Scott co and sycamore will keeps the #1s in and pound raider nation in a shutout ....

Daddy / buddy ball is still there ... Definition is a player who plays ahead of other players who are more skilled and give the TEAM a better chance to win based on who you live next to : who you hang with on the weekends with : what dad you grew up with or if your dad was a rebel lol..... And I think that's how it works at the next level also ..... NOT ..... because it's about the kids and winning and not about a bunch of has been dads ... Which is why we are now a colonel like many others who have left the nest to go else where to cleaner air and we are looking forward to our visit to the stadium that soccer built !!!!!!!!
09-22-2014, 03:49 PM
Sabotage is correct as you have a coach who has not got over the fact that 10 + years on the staff but yet your still not good enough to run the show :: so let's go grab the 6-8 best most experienced players on the team line them up on D and let the new guy deal will trying to compete with 135 lbs sophomores !!!!! Wrong in so many ways because the 2 new guys on O would have failed anyway because they are CLUELESS
09-22-2014, 04:17 PM
If you know football you'll agree with me, If your just a parent you probably won't. If your sitting in the stands and you see a kids get a punishing three yard run and just crush the kid who tackles him It's a ohh and ahh moment. Then you say he's a really good player. He probably is. What's most important to a offense is production. That's why a put the stats up there because they do matter and they tell the black and white of what we think we see. We have two kids with different skill sets. ( that's good! ) That gives us a chance to use both kids where their skills are an attribute to the team. ( I am for the team just not stupid and blind ) I say it real and If you don't I call BULL****. You need a kid who can give you a chance to score from anywhere if he gets loose IE #7. You also need to have a buffalo with #36. Ie. 1st and 6 from the goal. To the receiver question you put #7 at WR and he'll never get the rock. Remember we cant completed anything with any consistency so you might as well sit him on the bench. He's where the coach's have determined they can get the most production from his skill set. And it get's cusak on the field, Who is still hurt that's why he didn't play. #36 is an asset when we go to situational football and can be productive. Give it to him three times from the 6 in a heavy set and we win, no doubt. Where we are really hurting as far as constant production is the QB spot. We can't even keep a goal line fade in the field of play. That should be a jump ball TD or an interception. But it has to be catch-able. ( the back shoulder throw would be better in my book, but I'm not the coach). So if my posts rub you in the wrong way...sorry..but I only am speaking of what's best for the team and not some geo-parental nonsense. That's why stats count. No emotion, No kid's, just an analytical look at the facts.
09-22-2014, 04:41 PM
All this aside I hope we practice well, get hyped, because SK is coming and they aren't going to come quietly. They are a good team. If we want to be relevant we better get it together and show up this friday. Home coming might as well be a going away party if we don't. GO RAIDERS............

The truth has spoken, dropping names like nobodies business. After reading hard truth 2015s posts one has to wonder how someone that says their now a colonel has just joined rivals and is so in touch with the pulse of Ryle athletics? Could it be a bitter person that knows everything yet has never done anything, or their child doesn't get to play? I have watched all this back and forth between people and nothing is going to change because you call a boy soft, or slow and lazy. By reading your posts your obviously more upset about your child than the state of just the program. Maybe take a step back instead attacking boys that don't make the decision of where or when they play. Sometimes it really is better to keep things to yourself !

Wow you really are pi**** off. Hope your kids gets yo play there
Sounds like you needed a fresh start. You really should let that anger go, its definitely not healthy. Do you tell your son its the coaches faul he didn't play. That won't teach him how to deal with adversity, running away. I tell my kids to tryvharder, trust in Gods plan. Gavin is a great athlete, since you know so much you'd know why he's not playing offense. Say it big mouth. England's only yards against 2's were Scott county. 1 quarters worth.Do me a favor if your kid gets on the field with the 1s have him tell England he's soft . Better yet his dad films the games find him and tell him. I dare you! I would never move my whole family because my kid wasn't good enough to play. I find that so funny. Hard truth, more like hard crying.
