Raceland hires Michael Salmons as HC
#31
No one ever said they didnt work their butts off. I know they worked hard, all those kids do. I wouldnt ever try and take anything away from them. All I was saying was that the only game that they seemed to come out with an intensity level that made me say "wow", was against Fairview. The other times it was their size and tallent that won ball games. Not saying they didnt give it everything they had, every single down, not saying they underachieved, simply saying that there was alot of heads hanging and lack of intensity at times with this squad. The things they accomplished and personal things this team went through, were nothing shrt of special. This was a great ball team, but, the team never seemed to play with the same chip on their shoulder, that they had against Fairview.

So, is it true? Is Grizzle accepting a job at Russell? Heard it this morning, wasn't sure if I should believe it or not.

I havent, nor has anyone that i know close to the system. Cant dispell the rumor, nor can i confirm it.

Congrats rams on your new hire. Sounds like a good one.

Grizzle is still a Ram. The coaches will meet next week for assignments. Team looks great, very business like in the weight room. Workig very hard. These kids learned alot from last uears seniors. They are working hard to continue the climb to compete for a title.

I'm gonna stop listening to the guy feeding me this crap.

Grizzle is gone IMO.

I know Grizzle has been at Raceland's weight program every day and is also head coach for the freshman baseball team this year. Seems like he too involved to be leaving. I know Russell offered him OC position so I could see it either way.

The deciding factor is the real JOB in all of this. The Career. Very few people have made a living just coaching HS football. Russell didnt have a teaching job for him, Raceland gave him a great job, with credentials, benefits, retirement, the works. If he leaves, I wouldnt be totally stunned, BUT, it would suprise me, unless Russell came up with a good job to go along with the OC position. I think he will end up CO-OC this year at Raceland, the take the offensive reigns next season.

Just ot clarify a few wrong comments about the coaches that applied.

1st you will not find a finer person than Ray Graham. A true Christiana and great coach, no one would go wrong with having him around the youth of America

2nd Aaron Stepp has been head coach at 5 schools. He has coached the most prolific passer in the states history at Clay Co. and 2 years ago had the number one rushing offense in 2A. I can assure you he knows the game and does a great job teaching it.

I don't think anyone is trying to downgrade these coaches if you are just reporting what you hear, but I can assure you Raceland would not have went wrong with either of the two mentioned above.

Best of luck to coach Salmons and the Rams
