Thanks 64SUR and LUNATICFRIGE, Cole will continue to work hard. As i am sure all the other players will. We had 4 go to FBU and all 4 got invites to top gun. I dont think Cole will be the only player that teams come to Belfry to watch for the next years to come. He was lucky enough for God to place him there with a great group of kids. I can name you about 5-6 kids maybe more that really have a great chance of playing big time football. Got a great group of lineman coming up to go with the backfield that ran over the state this year. But as i have said before with what the high school has coming back going to be tuff for them to get on the field this year. But i am expecting bitg things from them for the net several years and then you have a young group at the middle school that is really good also. Going to be a fun time on POND CREEK for a while.

This thread has been great. But lets all take a deep breath and let this kid be a kid.

Totally agree. i aint the type of dad that makes him work out. He does it all on his own. He has the same desire that my oldest did just a lot bigger body. His oldest brother was a 3 year starter for Belfry and signed to play college ball but after an allstar game he played in, he just didnt have the body left to play. Decided to just go to school without playing ball. My boys know they dont have to play at all and i would be just as proud of them for just the type of kids they are. I have yet to pay for him to even go to camp. He goes out and works all the money out by cutting grass. Very proud of that fact. In a generation of kids that just hold their hands out he works his but off to go to the camps and better himself.

After becoming good friends with quiet a few of the Pikeville players from that era I was told Hackney was supposed to have attended old Mullins High. I stand corrected. I was wro g about one.

The way it should be, keep up the good work! Instilled in us from past generations. Perhaps the old marrowbone devolpment days.

Thats great proud44pirate. If more of the younger generation today had the same work ethic the future of this country would be a lot brighter.
Good luck to this young man from one of his biggest rivals fan.

If he applies the same work ethic to football he is going to be doing just fine! Good to hear and I look forward to hearing his name over the years.

Wish nothing but the best for this young man. Looks as though you have something to be very proud of for years to come.

Interesting to read all this. Having had the pleasure of meeting Cole and his dad I can say there is one really bad thing about him - he does not play for Knox Central... LOL. He and his family are top shelf class acts. Doubters will enjoy huge hunks of humble pie over the years as this kid will out work his peers and deliver the results.
Anytime you Belfry folks grow tired of all that "hype" just know that on this side of KY we would welcome the noise. LOL.

I'll reiterate everything Mr. Bentley said and say he is not tooting his own kid's horn, he is a class act and a great kid. The freshman class we have coming in is exciting top to bottom, they have the highest ceiling of a class as a whole of any class. Cole and his teammates will be leaders and have everyone working hard... which will be terrifying for whoever lines up in front of them!
