Sheldon Clark Vs East Ridge (15th Region 1st Round)
#31
Well, E.R. gets the toughest one first..... S.C. has a nice big man, and a really good shooter, plus the other guys play hard and contribute in many ways. S.C. is the favorite to win the 15th as they have been the most consistent team in the Region. E.R. can take them. A few things need to happen to pull the upset: 1. Tony must have a strong game, he must be able to take the ball to the goal, draw fouls and drop some shots. 2. Johnny must get open, get good looks, and drop some shots. 3. The E.R. team must defend against Johnson and Moore. I don't think the others can score enough alone to beat them, so them must hold these 2 to minimum points. Offensively, Johnny and Tony are the keys for E.R. Johnny must have a big game and Tony must drive inside effectively. If they are able to do these things, it opens the middle up for Kosongo, Coleman, Hagy, Thacker, Mullins, all players that typically don't score a lot of points, but can give you those needed 8-10 a game. IF E.R. can do these things, its an upset. My pick E.R. 65 S.C. 61

Sheldon Clark plays anything like they did in the district championship, then this'll be a 11-14 point game. The previous time these two met, SC was playing there 3rd game in 3 days and following trips to South Floyd & Pineville. ER was without the big man and SC was without their head coach. I hear comments all the time from throughout the region that ER is a better basketball team when Konsongo isn't playing. Athletically speaking, I liked what ER had going on and was surprised with them a bit. SC is on a mission right now and will not be stopped.

The Problem for ER will not be moore, and Johnson, they can keep up with those two. Chase Kirk will be the x factor if he is on then ER will be in for a longgg night. BTW Johnson might not be the one on the poster when the game is over.

Unfortunately I can see a very nasty hard intentional foul before I can see that.

Unless Kasongo's attitude has changed, which I doubt, Johnson should be ok, Kasongo's attitude has really effected his game during the district tounry. From what I seen in the district, Ray DID work hard for the ball but the guards did not make the entry pass.

Sheldon Clark is just too much for them.

Possibly the game of the tournament. A lot must happen but I feel these teams match up very well. Similar size, both teams have a good 3pt guy, both have good bench support, and both have a guy that can get to the rim and finish whenever they want. The "X" factor is coaching and how well Ray controls his emotions thus how well the coach controls the potential distractions. If Ray comes to play which everyone is still waiting, Sheldon Clark could have a difficult time beating the Warriors. I will definitely be watching this game!

lol, I just had to make sure that wasn't all there was. Figured the big time ones were missed, that somehow always happens unless we have cameras all over the gym like a college game or something.

Johnson had some nice dunks throughout the 57th distrct tournament...IMO the best one was aginst PHS when parsley lobs it and johnson goes up and throws it down one handed with authority plus the foul...not to mintion he was off balance from being shoved in the back.

I thought it looked pretty good too... if it wasn't a dunk I am not sure what else you would call it. Certainly wasn't a jump shot or a layup. Confusednicker:

^The link I posted to that dunk was 4th best out of the 5 he had in the district tourney.

I am shocked at all these predictions for ER...?? Really? I don't see it.:please:

I honestley think we really have this one in the bag. Only thing bothers me is foul trouble. If we avoid going to deep on the bench it will be an ER / Pikeville Final IMO.
#57
im gonna take Sheldon Clark, im likeing the sound of a pikeville sheldon clark final
#58
If Miller is on and shoots lights out this will be a great game. Who wants it more...?

You lost by 17 in the only meeting. East Ridge is 17-12 for a reason and Sheldon Clark is 26-6 for a reason. They've been the best team in the region all year long and solidified that Saturday night after they beat JC handily for the 2nd straight time.
