Breathitt 53 Pike Central 20
#31
Matney and Hager to UVA Wise, Chapman to JC

Take it for what it's worth.

Why would Haddix want to go to leave PerCC for PIkCC? It's in NO WAY a better job,
and it's much, much further from his home. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. When
Haddix leaves PCC it will either be to replace the retiring Holcomb at BC, or
for a much higher profile job elsewhere.

Like everyone else, I'm curious about this?

Spill some beans for us.

Bingo!! I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned already

That is one floating around but there is about 4 different versions.

Like I said, lots of rumors floating around.

I only posted that one because all 3 coaches and schools are out of the playoffs now.

I heard the whole Matney and Hager to UVA wise and Chapman to JC rumor. Seems a little far fetched to me but Ive seen crazier things happen. I also heard that Chapman might be eating his post game meals at the Pine Mountain Gril next year.... Just what I heard thats all.

mandan Wrote:......lots of conversation in the stands about this. Would Breathitt actually take him back, after all the stuff that has happened with him?
From what Ive heard from a pretty reliable source he would not be welcomed back @ Breathitt.
#41
Congrats Breathitt

Congrats Bobcats........Just like every other season since Chapman arrived on scene, Can't win the big one...can we say "Chapman can't get it done"? Its one thing wasting time with focus on trying to compete with Belfry, that is OK, its a challence for a lot of teams to compete with Belfry, but Russell last year, Breathitt this year, and lets hope theres not another year! Not taking anything away from Russell or Breathitt, but I think PCC had a more competitive team than to be taken to the wood-shed by Breathitt..Once again Congrats Bobcats, good Luck the rest of the year...

This is just my own thoughts on why a team can not beat another team, when both teams are at or close to the same level. I believe the fault is mostly on the players, I believe they go in with self doubt. They have fallen to the same team time after time and it has not made a difference who was coaching them at the time of the game. As soon as something goes bad the best of players have to have that thought that was in the back of their mind come to the for front. To me there is nothing a coach can do or say when this occurs.
As far as coaching goes I think, if the coach has been there for a number of these games he and his staff must start over and do things 100% differently then they have in the past. I’m talking from the way you have prepared for them along with adjusting your game plan. There has to be changes made in preparing for the team you have not been able to beat, who you are on the same level with.

Many people said when Chapman was at Breathitt he was the brains of teh team and Holcomb was the face. Thing is since Chapman left Breathitt has continued making good runs into the playoffs but Chapman has not. There will be alot of coaching changes made this off-season, there always are but for now we will just have to guess because we have all heards rumors about someone going to one school but ending up at another. We never really know what goes on behind the scenes.

NCF,

What teams has Pike Central failed to beat that they are also on the same level with?

I really wasn't trying to pin point any two teams was just add my thoughts on why two teams on the same level always seems to have the same outcome.

I should have started a new thread on this, but used this topic being there was already talk on this.

Central might not be on the same level as some of the teams the lose to each season but several of my points have come up in talking to some of the Central fans about certain teams.
#47
Congrats Breathitt
#48
If John Paul leaves . The new coach is already there.
#49
You all can say what you want about jp he came into a school that suck the big one. Rome was not built in a day. He has been there three seasons. Breathitt co came to play our boys did not . The Hawks was there to make the stop but didnt wrap up, Hell we fumble inside the 10 three times. Same thing happen in the Belfry game. Bottom line you can not and will not win against teams like Belfry and Breathitt and turn the ball over that many times. I would like to wish the Bobcats all the luck because you have your hands full this friday night.

I understand. I wasn't sure what you were saying. It may come up on conversation but the teams PC has lost to (Belfry, Russell, Breathitt etc) they are definitely not on the same level with. It would take a long time of sustained play at a level higher then PC has ever reached to claim membership in that group.

They are a group of young men who need guidance, experience, training, understanding, leadership!! Hope Pike County BOE makes a hire that will enhance this program for the better this time, instead of their main focus being "beating Belfry"!

for the love of god, please do not reproduce

Congrats Bobcats.

I have no dog in this fight, but you can't be serious? You tell a person not to reproduce because they want better for their team he wanted someone to teach these young men to be better not only at football but life also and you give him flack. Wow. Tells us a lot about you. Good luckk with that.:eyeroll: as a Belfry fan but most of all a fan of football, I wish these kids the best and do hope they find a coach that will bring out the best in all of them. As should you.

How would PC fans feel about their new HC being a Haywood disciple?

The name I am hearing has won a ton of games, just not at the HS level... and definitely has deep roots in Pond Creek.
#55
I have heard that rumor also. Ill ask him about it when I see him. He would do an excellent job.

Congrats Breathitt!

Boys, quit playing "I know something you don't know".lol. If you got a name , throw it out there. We're not all on the "inside" like some of you. Out with it!!
As for Chapman, I think he still lives in Breathitt Co. and makes the drive to PCC almost every day. I'm guessing his aim is to get closer to home. SC, JCC, Paintsville would be a little closer, but not by much.

They are hinting at Keith May, Belfry Middle School coach.
#59
Is he the MS asst principal and long-time MS coach?
#60
What I don't understand you have a coach that has brought you 3 winning season and almost beat Belfry a years ago and went to the regional final his first year and posted a 9-1 record and 8-2 record the last two year and you want rid of him. All I can say is your crazy go back to winning three games a year, because Chapman will win were every he goes. He is a defensive mastermind he can't help if your kids can't make the tackle. But this is your all school do what every you want with it.
