but answer this question, since when is it a moderators job to call for a coaches job or call them out, i thought they kept the forum from that crap.
If you feel like someone stating that Rock was out coached is doing either of the above then you are wrong. The same people you're referring to have made numerous posts about how good the coaching at Rock is and that the program is moving back in the right direction. However, if you watch the game, which I don't think you have, you will have no choice but to agree that the loss to KC was the result of 1) a team that had not been properly prepared, and 2) failure by the coaching staff to adjust the game plan at any point. The players executed the game plan, and it was obvious that it wasn't working, and no changes were made during the course of the game. The coaching staff let the players down in this one....it does happen, and the entire team will learn from it.
I would bet that during the team meeting the coaching staff took the blame themselves. If they didn't then they should have. Sometimes you get out coached.

Laker20, he is referring to the North Laurel vs. Madison Southern thread.
I made a statement that was something to the effect of 'I wonder how many North Laurel fans are calling for Chris' head?'
99% of the time, fan bases will not give a coach time to start a program or revive one. I thought the M.S. loss would be the final nail in the proverbial coffin for coach Chris (Larkey). However, I was pleasantly surprised at how patient the North Laurel faithful truly are. Chris should NEVER leave that job. 99.9999% of fan bases would have ran him out of town, undeservedly so. Today, too many coaches are ran out before they get a real chance.
Anyhow, in case you didn't know, the Larkey family, Tony Saylor and any of the current staff at Rock are "untouchables" and strange bed-fellows for former. Forget coach Poynter, coach Welch, etc... but the ones I mentioned are above reproach and on a different level of criticism. They do no wrong.
What really got him and the Jaguar fans riled is when I claimed that there IS football talent there and they teams they field should be better than they are. They are one of the largest 5A schools, in a county that has two 5A schools! The athletes are there, just have to get them to play. Maybe they are not all-state players but God-given size and speed are there. There were athletes there that won basketball State championships, etc...

Last time im saying this. No one said we had bad coaches. We have a good coaching staff. coach saylor is one of the best defensive coaches in the state. I just made the statement we got out coached last week "not prepared for what Knox ran". it not down gradeing any of the rock coaches. it was just a smart moves by Coach Russlle and the rest of the knox staff. So shut up about this.:please:

^Where is Adam Coleman now? Wasn't there a coach Calhoun that went somewhere? Was there some guy at Wayne County that was a Rock coach? I wonder what the Rocket coaching tree looks like? Didn't William "Kermit" Blair go somewhere as an assistant?

I'm pretty sure she was the vice principal of the high school and also AD. She covered for the principal of the high school when he left or was sick for a while. When her husband was hired as head coach, there was a changing of several jobs in a short time in the district. A woman that I went to high school with became principal of the high school and left her job at central office. The elementary school principal went to the central office and Mrs. Coleman became principal of the elementary school at Berea. I think I have all of that right.

Taking Rockcastle in this one.
10-19-2011, 10:24 AM
^Berea has actually done well by their standards. They have won 3 games, they only won two all of last season, and they lost 8 seniors from last seasons team. Not bad.
PS- I actually always like Debbie and Adam. I had both as teachers.

I think that Rockcastle will definitely win this game, but I would not be surprised if Clay doesn't step up their game and keep it close for awhile. Clay has a handful of atheletes. "61" for the tigers is huge and very strong and
"57" is a beast. They have a solid line backer or two. If Rockcastle is determined to run it up the middle every play they will be playing into the strength of Clay's Defense. I believe Clay County will give a better effort....but I expect them to fall just a bit short.

Have you ever thought of maybe rock ran up the middle due to lack of speed to get outside and knowing Knox had the outside covered with more speed than rock did.

obviously you are a Russell Co fan, go to your team topic, Rock and Clay is of no concern to you and I know way more about Rocket football than you.

Rock will have no problem in this game. They can run it up the middle, to the outside, heck, they can run it backwards if they want to........they will not be challenged at any point.
As far as Rock's game against Knox, here's some stats that are interesting:
Rock rushing: vs Knox 214, vs Russell Co 206 (13 in OT)
Rock passing: vs Knox 105, vs Russell Co 134
Total Offense: vs Knox 319, vs Russell Co 330 (13 in OT)
Points Scored: vs Knox 14, vs Russell Co 29 (8 In OT)
So, in regulation the Lakers allowed 2 less yards than Knox did. Rock's loss to Knox wasn't so much the offense, it was field position and poor pass coverage.

I am a fan of high school football who resides in Russell Co. I post in the topics that interest me, and with Rock and Clay being part of our district, I do and will continue to offer my opinions and observations. However, when someone begins to call out other members for stating there opinion on the outcome of a game, then I will speak my mind. I'm about as unbiased as any member of this site, and in being so, I call it the way I see it.
I won't dispute your dominance in the knowledge of Rock football. However, if you could exchange some of that vast wealth of Rocket football knowledge for a bit of class and etiquette, then you will come across much more believable. As it stands now you will continue to remain :foreveralone:
If you desire to continue in a verbal joust then I will forewarn you, you are severely out-gunned.

i really dont believe you ever go to games. if you was at the knox game they stacked the middle. rock kept running up the middle. the few times rock did run outside it was at least 5 yards.

I have thought of many things...the reason that Rockcastle continued to run up the middle against Knox when they were stacking the box is not one of them.... I simply noted that IF they chose to do so against Clay county that they would be playing into the strength of the Tiger defense...Another thought I had..." why would someone get so offended and upset when someone suggest that a obviously overmatched Clay County team might keep the game closer because of some good atheletes who play on the interior of the DL, and Rockcastle's style of play that tends to run up the middle"...Haven't figured that one out yet.
