Amun-Ra Wrote:There not coming when UNC is going to be there? That's odd.

That is what I expected but maybe CBS picked that game up. That would be a legitimate reason why they wouldn't come. Why promote the opposition?

It will be the game of the year, why not come anyway?

Lot's of TV revenue for the Cats, wonder where all of it will go....

SD, thanks for sharing those pictures. It's ironic because I was trying to find the whole team today - so thank you.

On another note: Look at all the new faces, there are some of these people I have never even heard of or seen.. Is there a roster someone can provide? I can't seem to find one except the one from last year.

Who is that Beckham guy?

# 32, # 12, # 13 - who in the world is these people? Walk ons?

It's the new faces that makes this a challenge to get this team off to a great start.

32 and 13 are the two new walk ons I believe.

12 is Ryan Harrow. Highly touted PG. Went to NC ST, and transferred here. He's good. Look em up. Won't get to play till next year.

Twany Beckham is a KY native who transferred in from Miss ST. Another pretty good player. Becomes eligible the second half of the season I think?

Man you have no idea what you're talking about! The SEC is better than it has been in quite a while, especially at the top!

But I'm waiting on the Kansas game on Nov 15 too...I can't wait to get some revenge against Kansas. I'm pretty sure they beat us in Tubby's last game, and have beat us the last 3 or so times we've played them.

I can't wait.

The Vandy and Florida games scare me much more than the UNC or any other game on our schedule...I'm telling you guys, don't look past Vandy. They have everyone back from last years team, and they've gotten nothing but better. They have 3 All-Americans...this isn't the Vandy we're used to.

UK is loaded with talent. If they don't win it this year they never will.

king360 Wrote:UK is loaded with talent. If they don't win it this year they never will.

I said the same thing when they had John Wall and that crew....

This team isn't as good as Wall's team but I do believe that this is the team that will get #8... I didn't believe in last years team because I don't like Knight but Teague is a MUCH better passer.... Teague isn't like Wall and Knight he's not going to try to score 30 a game, Miller and Lamb are going to love Teague...
#42
^ This years team has a bench where Walls team did not. Maybe the starting five will not be as good, but at least now when the Cats get into foul trouble or a player is having a bad game, that Cats have options on the bench. Something this team did not have 2 years ago
#43
Also, CBS always carries the UNC-UK game, and have as long as I can remember. It's always at 12:00pm too, and a shitload of snow. lol, gah, I can't wait!

The SEC will be much improved this season. Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Florida are legit final four threats. Also Alabama returns a lot and they finished first in the West last season.
#45
^

I agree. I'm glad somone mentioned Alabama. They return a lot and got a nice class coming in. The Tide will be a threat to a lot of schools in the SEC this coming year. However, I love this UK team, I cant see them losing more than 2 or 3 games. I dont know bout the 40-0 talk but I dont think it is out of the question. Lets go Cats!

LETS GET #8!!!!
#46
Whoever said gameday wasnt coming to UK was wrong.
They'll be there for the UK/Vandy game.
I think they like to stick to in conference games, or atleast it seems like it
#47
I think this is possibly the best team we have had under cal. Its just more rounded as a whole. Shooters, Distributors, Drivers, ITs gonna be a Championship this year.
#48
^ I agree 100%. The talent top to bottom is fantastic. They do not have a true big man and that truly bothers me a little. Two years ago they had Orton and Cousins. Last year they had Harrelson. There is no true big man on this squad. I look at the UNC game as a true test to see if this will limit the Cats. But this team is so athletic, they can make up for bulk in many other ways.

We dont have a true center, true enough. Have u watched davis play? This kid is relentless under the rim. And on the defensive end. WE may possibly have the best defensive team in the country.

This is the best college basketball team EVER. I've never been one to be blinded by blue goggles. I'm one of the few realistic people on here, but this team IMO will be that great.

I have not seen Davis play other than BBM. And in that, Wiltjer is the only player of all to play any level of defense. But I will hold jusdgement on that. Davis looked great in the paint on offense, but I never saw him attempt to alter any shots against guys who can get them off against him.

He is a sight to see. 100% on every play and loves to be that shutdown paint defender.

I am nowhere near a Darius Miller homer but did anyone see that kid coming off screens dropping the 3 ball? His shot is totally different.

They're going to Vandy for the UK/Vandy game there man...they aren't coming to Lexington this year, sadly. Pretty dumb decision on ESPN's part, and I think they might possibly pick up a game and come anyway.

But yeah, the Gameday is at Vandy. The second Vandy game, which is the one in Lexington, isn't Gameday. It's on CBS at noon.

Both are going to be straight up awesome.

"That wealth of exposure includes a third straight season with an appearance on arguably college basketball's grandest stage outside the Final Four: ESPN's GameDay. Kentucky will be the opponent when GameDay originates from Vanderbilt on Feb. 11."

Also, I think that Davis's unbelievable length more than makes up for his lack of weight. He'll get a bit bigger through the season, but our money is going to rest on his blocked shots, run-outs, and the extra stamina he has compared to most big men.

Yea i should have worded that better.
I thought someone said gameday wasnt covering uk at all.

I honestly think gameday doesnt want to come to uk because of the amount of fans that pour into rupp just for events like that. I truly believe had it came to uk this year, you wouldnt be able to here them on tv.
Call me crazy but i really do believe that is the reason. They dont want to be mobbed and not heard over the thousnds of uk fans that would be there.

I did! It is definitely a lot different. He was shooting from long range all night. It was a sight to see. When they did an interview with him he said that Cal worked on his shot with him and he doesn't hesitate when shooting. Sure looked a lot better to me.

I would also like to point out Jones' shot. It has much improved and he is going to be a site to watch this year too. Man this UK team is out of this world. I do see a lot of people on here not putting a lot of stock in Wiltjer, he looked like he was having jitters from the BBM. I do believe once he gets in a good groove and feels comfortable he will show his true colors. The kid can flat out ball.

Kentucky will be a really good basketball team, but we must not forget about North Carolina. NC returns the entire team plus there recruiting class they have. If these two teams are on opposite sides of the bracket in March, they will play each other because I see both teams loosing like no more than 2.

Plus when they play each other in the season, that will be a really good show of NBA talent. Kentucky has like 6 or 7 players of NBA talent and NC has about 6 or 7. That will be the most exciting game on the schedule.
#60
It's Miller time baby!!! I'm so ready for the Cats this year. This is the year we get #8!
