If you start rushing Towels too much, he is a very good runner and will tuck it and run and put up big rushing yards.

jackal405 Wrote:In my opinion, the game will come down to how much time Towles has to throw. With his blind side replacing 3 starters, and one heck of a DT trying to prove that he belongs in division 1 next year going against said o-line Towles will not have a lot of time to get rid of it. If BC can get it done with 3 up front, then a 3-3-5 will shut down the passing, and Towles will be on his back before someone gets open. I know, a lot of ifs, ands, and buts. I personally feel better about stopping the Highlands offense now that I do later in the season after the O-line gels. My other question will be moving the ball on offense for BC. Winning a 7 on 7 tournament is great, but that is not game conditions. Overall, not the high scoring game a lot of people expect.
Final score: Boyle 24, Highlands 21 in front of one of the largest crowds to watch a game @ BC.

What choice do you have. Not rush him and he picks you apart. Rush him and he runs. You have to put pressure on him and hope to contain. You cannot sit back on him. ??

I'll go with Boyle because they are a class act. Fans too.

If he runs a lot early, that could wear him down late. And the tackles on the end of the run could decrease his effectiveness late also. What a way to kick off the season! As a fan of Kentucky football, you can not get any better in week 1.

IMO, this is the most anticipated game of the regular season. Everyone is going to tune in to check the score of this game. Everyone wants to know who is going to win. It's going to be a crazy atmosphere. You got the two top teams not only in 4A, but two of the top teams in the state. Both are defending state champions. Lots of history between the two. Can't wait.

yeah, just decided im def going to drive the hour and 1/2 down to this one.
Im hoping Boyle has dank BBQ or something like that in the concession.
Any pre-game dive bars within a walk of the stadium? is it a dry county?

What's the name of the pub right across the By Pass in the strip center next to the grocery store? That's pretty close.

Looks to be a good one. Highlands looks tough this year and they always have a great team year in and year out. As far as Boyle I think this will be a great test for the rebels as they always seem to step it up when they play a team like highlands. If im not mistaking this is the fith time these two teams have played. And Highlands won the last time at state. Some say we are the underdog but I have go with Boyle in what should be a great game.

Or on the contrary having to hit a 6'5 230 pound runner repeatedly could take its toll (no pun intended), on some of Boyle's DB's.

Towels just keeps getting bigger,I thought he was like 6'4" 220 lbs.if the proper tackleing tecnique is used its just as easy to tackle a big player as it is a small player. If he's a 6'5" 230 lb white boy he cant have much speed so he won't be hard to catch.when you gang tackle the way Boyle does i dont see him having many rushing yds.he'll have to win throwing the ball.should be a great one.can't wait.

I have to agree on that one. Every year everyone we play talks about how small Boyle's line is and how big and bad there players are but we still seem to make it to state or give everyone we play a good game and they know Boyle was there. I think alot of people are very shocked when they play Boyle how hard they hit and how it takes its toll on the other team.

I think you could say the same for Highlands . They have been noted for their small , quick line. You won't see any 320 plus slow lineman on Highlands team.

Conditioning has never been a problem at Highlands. He won't wear down.

Nope:biggrin:just my opinion,You know the old saying the bigger they are the harder they fall.that doesn't mean they're harder to bring down,it means they hit the ground harder when they land.

Just went through the stats for Towles last season. His accuracy is not as good as I thought by listening to the posts. The most dangerous part of his game is running the ball, or so it was. The other backs did not get many carries at all. I am not saying that Towles is not good, just that the stats are not overly impressive compared to the hype.

Anyone planning on some pre-game tailgating?

Well lucky for you guys Towles only hits on 50 or 51% of his passes. The problem is that he averages 21 yards a completion.
