East Ridge 58 - Shelby Valley 50
#31
StanTheFan Wrote:Lose a game and think you get some pride back this way? And I hope you keep compiling those win/loss stats cause looks like ER will go up two this year and two each year here after for the next 4 years so that may even it out a bit, especially considering that they played without their best player and a big contributor in his absence was and 8th grader.

As of right now, it's 19-4 alltime between the two schools, so East Ridge has quite a ways to go to even that record out. But I think you're taking a pretty big leap to just assume that ER will win every game with Shelby Valley for the next four years. SV will be down this season and probably the next, but this downturn won't last forever. Valley has a very strong group of freshmen right now, and has an even better class coming up for good from the middle school next year. I fully expect SV to be contending for the 15th region again 2 years from now.

And what did you mean, "get some pride back this way"? I don't think that SV fans have any less pride in their basketball program right now, despite this season's struggles. Of course, it's entirely possible that being the defending state champions might be the reason for that...

I meant that who I was replying to (not all valley fans) wasted his time to post "so your wrong" to someone who had already admitted they were" just to try and win an argument cause he obviously struggled with the loss of the game. And now you have indicated you must be having a little trouble with by going back to win loss records and how long it will take to even it up to help you cope. Give it up man! Last I checked they dont give you trophies this year for last years or any other years success. And before you go on and make your predictions for two years from now go back and read your posts and predictions for this years valley team and see how that panned out for you and remember this: Ridge beat Valley with out their best player, who will be there 4-5 more years, along with the rest of LAST YEARS middle school champs (since you think the past matters so much) and both feds creek and elkhorn have nice middle schools this year, despite the two middle school players they dont have considering they are playing varsity this year and are not just playing but contributing heavily in scoring and other stat catagories. But go ahead and talk about win loss records, how bad you beat people last year, how big those banners are, and what you think will happen 2 years from now and then 2 more years from then, and maybe 2 more from then too. But you are right about one thing, it will take a few more years to even out that record, but only valley will not see them in the tourneys so they are going to be limited by the two reg season games. May get three this year because Pikville will probably get the one seed, but we go down after this year but not enough to not beat valley so after this year they wont even meet in the district for the next 4 years. So your right, going to take a few more years!!!

Inferiority Complex - •a sense of personal inferiority arising from conflict between the desire to be noticed and the fear of being humiliated...

Like a typical Louisville fan when referring to UK, keep telling yourself these things.

What are you talking about ALFUS?? Not satisfied being clueless about basketball you got to show us how little you know about Psycology too?? LOL.. How do you get humiliated when you win? without your best player? at Valley? When the previous record is 19-3.? I hear the announcers now "Humiliating win by the Warriors.... they battled alot of adversity with injury and valleys early lead to come down here and beat last years state champs like that,, what a shame... gonna be a long bus ride home tonight".. LOLOLOL! Agreed Valley is alot like UK,, now there in the Tubby / Gillespie years! But I would say that ER is like a Sneaky Marquette and Pville is like a its our turn again Duke!

Like a typical Valley fan (wanting to be and thinking like a Paintville Fan) when imagining any 3A school in Louisville. Keep telling yourself you will be back on top again soon? Dont have the numbers, now dont have the legacy to get the transfers, and soon will be plagued with the consolidation of the middle schools from what I hear. Give it up and Buy some Maroon sweat shirts this year, some columbia the next three or four, and then some Blue and Orange, the only way your gonna be able to talk trash anymore!!!

Well Stan, I encourage you to go back through my posts and see how much trash I've ever spoken on this site. I was simply stating what I saw as a fact, and that is that you were a little too fired up about your first win over a crosstown school in quite sometime.

You must focus on the desire to be noticed and "fear" of humiliation part of your complex to better understand it. By the way Stan, I find it quite comical that you didn't sign up on this site to discuss (and I use that term loosely) basketball, specifically about your East Ridge or Pikeville (can't tell who you cheer for) team until December. Either way you have been buried in obscurity for so long up there, that I am surprised you actually remembered or found your way on to this site to attempt and discuss some round ball.

By the way, I'd love an explanation of how consolidation of Virgie/Dorton would plague anything that is concerned with Shelby Valley basketball.

I guess this is all neither here nor there, so good luck the rest of the season. I'll be sure to stock up on those colors you're so confident about. Thanks for the advice.

Good win for ER and congrats to them. I thought MCclanahan had a very good game, he pretty much shut down any attempt SV had at having an inside game, and the Miller boy who IMO has improved his ball handling greatly since last year was money from the foul line down the stretch, I was told he went 8 for 8 but it sure seemed like he made more than that. I know ER has some very good young talent but to the poster that thinks ER will beat SV hands down for the next 2,3,4 years I think he will be surprised because SV has also got some very good young talent that are freshman and 8th graders. This should make for some very good basketball in the 15th region in the next couple of years with ER, SV, along with BL, and JC who also has some very good young players.

Pal you have always tried to find someway to put East Ridge down. I've been around as long as you and never once seen you try and say something constructively nice about East Ridge. Typical Valley Alum right there. Now Troll away.

Keep fighting Wildcats!! Coach Newsome will get this team in the right direction, at least Coach Newsome has the guts 2 coach a team that he knows isn't as talented as years passed, Jason Booher couldn't handle possibly having a losing season this year and went 2where some more talent is (Holmes) I never understood y SV hired Booher after he posted a 11-17 record at Belfry in 03-04 before he came to SV? If Rodney or Greg would have coach SV from 04-05 season up they would have won a state title long before 2010 believe that!!!! probably multiple titles!!!

I have focused on my desire to be noticed. Noticed by the Lexington Herald, noticed by Wymt, the Medical leader. Pikeville and East Ridge are in the top 10 on all those. What lofty desires I have. But agian I get it.. you took psychology at Big Sandy. Were all very proud. Now see if you can figure out how to fix the conflict with your ID, Ego, and Superego! Losing sucks but trying to make up for it by siting past accomplisments and failures is pathetic!! And they you better hurry if your going to stock up on those colors because there in this year and not much left,,,, plenty of royal blue and white left on the shelves tho!!

Oh and Alfus,, i just did go back through your posts,, as I did before I made that comment the other day, but for some reason there are alot missing from the other day. Must be part of the Administrator privilage. Smart move! Cause I saw where you had Valley 3rd, Pikeville, 8th, and ER 10th in the region!
