this is a very good schedule anybody think this schedule is easy isn't right. If Whitley wins half of these games it will be a big success.

Don't forget only 3 home games in that mess.

GUT, what is their numbers in the off season weight program?

I was told the other day that very few kids were lifting, but the overall number was around 50. Maybe fever or somebody else can give us a correct estimate.

Does anyone out there know the complete coaching staff and what they coach. Will they keep the Jr High coaches in place?

I'm curious about the staff too.coach if you're reading this you have a giant walking the hallways that could make up half the line by himself.get him interested in playing football lol
I know you know who he is.he is easy to spot in a crowd Smile
OldSchool58 Wrote:Pike County Central 3A beat Morgan County is regular season 63-29 then first round of the payoffs beat them 75-28. Williamsburg 1A beat Pike County Central 48-26. Morgan County 3A had a record of 4-7. Sounds like two easy winning games.

Just for the record....Pike and Morgan was tied at the half before Morgan's qb went down on the last play of the half with a separated shoulder. When they played again Morgan dressed 17 kids to go to Pike, bunch of starters out and some who just obviously didn't want to go to Pike Central. Yeah Pike ran it up on an undermanned team. But the boys at Mboro scheduled Morgan 2 years in a row and volunteered to come to Morgan 2 years in a row. Both times Morgan won. Whitley won 1 game last season, might not be as easy as you think.
Whitleys complete schedule

Aug 22, 14 Pike County Central away
Aug 29, 14 Madison Southern home
Sep 5, 14 Bell County away
Sep 12, 14 Rockcastle County away
Sep 19, 14 Clay County away
Sep 26, 14 Knox Central home
Oct 3, 14 Morgan County away
Oct 10, 14 Perry County Central home
Oct 17, 14 Harlan County away
Oct 24, 14 Letcher County Central away
I see 3-7. Wins over Rock, Clay and Morgan.

Agreed 3-7 maybe even 2-8 Clay may Shock some people this year.
It depends on how many kids he gets out IMHO.
If hes got a good turnout and puts certain players in the right places, I think Whitley is very capable of going as good as 7-3, if he doesn't, and its a cluster this year, im with you guys on the 3-7.

I am going to split the difference and look for Whitley to win 5 or 6 games this season.
In all honesty, other than the Madison Southern game, and probably the Harlan county game, the rest of them are winnable.

Why do pick Whitley to beat rockcastle. We had our worst team ever last year and still beat Whitley pretty easily.
Former I forgot Rock beat Whitley. I change my prediction.

Whitley will be 2-8 just b/c Run it up the gut is a fan and thinks they can be 8-2. Whitley lost more than the average fan knows.

Having unrealistic expectations does not help the new coaching staff. I think they will turn it around but it will take a few years.

I'm actually shocked we beat you all last year. We should be a lot better but we still have same problem as last year.

you beat Whitley's freshman team.everybody else was injured lol

We were a lot of young kids too because we can't develop talent

Tell me, without looking at a roster on khsaa, exactly who all Whitley loses since im just an average fan....

Whitley returns there entire backfield minus Hooper, (who was out for the Bell game that Whitley almost won) and most of there interior lineman. The defense is what got hit the hardest, but it wasn't good to begin with. This team has to be better than last years. I also said they could go 3-7 or 7-3. That's how unpredictable it is.
Lets face it, Pike Co Central got throttled by Wburg. Whitley should be able to atleast handle them. Morgan County, Clay County, Rock, Bell, Knox, Letcher, and Perry aren't great football teams right now. They are all very winnable games if this guy knows what hes doing. None of those teams are unbeatable in any shape or form.
As for Madison Southern, Whitley doesn't have the horses to stop Harris, and Harlan County is consistently good and rebuilds with more talent. There numbers alone will overwhelm Whitley IMO.
However, im an average fan so who knows. Personally it wouldn't surprise me to see them go 2-8 or 8-2. There not a lot of good football teams around here right now.
