Considering how many coaches have been run off since Bobby Keith and that most of Clay County's finest citizens are either in prison or headed there, who from Clay knows anything about credibility. Coach Spurlock's career record at Hazard and Clay County is 169-75. He has won five district championships, 1 regional championship, 4 all "A" regional championships, and 1 all "A" state championship. IMO this is a good catch for Sheldon Clark whose boys teams have been struggling over the past few years. One thing he doesn't do is kiss the rears of the influential, wealthy parents who coddle their kids. He also brings a daughter who is going to be dandy basketball player who will be a fine addition to an already good girls team.

The powers to be couldn't tell him what to do and it drove them nuts. Clay Co simply did not have the players while he was there to win a regional championship. Give him some time and he will do well at Sheldon Clark.
