Not surprising that in Texas they are going to spend 60 million on a high school stadium. High school football in huge in Texas. A few years ago while visiting family in San Antonio, I went to a regular season game that had over 7,000 people. A lot of stadiums in Texas seat more than 8,000. The ones listed below all have seating capacity over 16,500.

Alamo Stadium in San Antonio in the largest high school stadium in the state and holds 23,000 has Nex Turf and is the home field for 8 area high schools.

Mesquite Memorial Stadium holds 20,000 has turf and a video screen. It is home to 5 area high schools.

Ratliff Stadium in Odessa seats 17,931 has turf, a video screen and is home to 2 schools including the MOJO Nation Permian Panthers of Friday Night Lights.

Veteran’s Memorial Stadium in Pasadena seats 16,800 has turf and is home to 5 area schools.

Stallworth Stadium in east Houston seats 16,500 has turf and a video screen. It is home to 3 area schools.

Pizza Hut Park in north Dallas seats 21,193 has grass and a video screen. It host 3 area schools.

Farrington Field in Fort Worth seats 18,500 has grass and is home to 1 school.

Buccaneer Stadium in Corpus Christi seats 18,000 has grass and host 5 schools.

Memorial Stadium in Wichita Falls seats 17,000 has turf and host 4 schools.

Round Rock Stadium in Austin seats 16,500 has turf and a video screen. It host 2 schools.
