I'm pretty sure that TCN started this thread because Ashland has raised much talk over the past 2-3 seasons of installing our own turf. Most people have been in favor of the idea thus far.

We're still trying to hammer out all of the details on exact costs and where the money would come from. Luckily we have a great community that loves our kids. A lot of money has been put into the other sports over the last few years and now it is time for the football team to get another upgrade.

The boys baseball team had a new field put in beside the highschool with lights.

A brand new soccer and track complex was also completed in recent years near the high school.

From what I hear, I haven't seen it yet, but apparently the bleachers in gym for basketball games are brand new.

The football team received a brand new revamped weightroom this season, that money come from a private sponsor though.

Now they are considering the turf on the field.

This thread has nothing to do with Russell/Belfry. Everyone knows you don't win state championships without being able to play on grass. Also the poll asks whether turf is good or bad, not will turf effect Belfry on Friday night.

But back to the topic. I think turf is great as long as the school and community put forward the money to actually get a good one. That are some whack job turfs out there that will do nothing but hurt players and teams. If a school is going to elect for turf, get the good stuff.
