What Stardust said has nothing to do with Shelby Valley so people should not get so easily offended. Both football and basketball had very average years statewide. A lot of the so called "powers" had average years. This takes nothing away from what SV accomplished. A Sweet Sixteen trophy is not rewarded with an asterisk saying "Won by the Wildcats in weak overall year." What they accomplised is amazing. State champs are still state champs.

I think just the opposite, this years teams were above average if you ask me, yes no individual superstars, but a lot of talent state wide.
