[Stardust]

DortonWildcat and Stardust...in regards to the last few posts, I think Elijah Pittman and Coach Henley summed it up best when describing this team:

Holmes, which entered the season with four proven players, has developed a nice eight-man rotation that should serve it well in the postseason. “We’re a work in progress,” said Holmes coach David Henley.

Speaking of Henley, there was a nice little post-game meeting of the minds between Henley and Highlands coach Dale Mueller. While I was interviewing Henley about the how the team has rebounded since the Ryle lost, Mueller emerged from the gym. “(The loss) probably did bother them a little bit,” Henley said. ”But that’s something they’ve got to learn. You’ve got to come out every night. We’re not Highlands football. We’re not just going to show up and …” With that, Mueller cut him off, smiling and pointing to Henley. “Unclassified state champions,” he said.....

Said Holmes senior forward Elijah Pittman. “We were losing focus of who we are and what we want to be. We were looking at ourselves as last year’s state champions. It’s a new year.”

Pretty much what I have been saying all year.
