you know in all those pirate movies where the pirate has the bird on his shoulder well the bird turned on the pirate and ate his eyes

You didn't finish the story.......

With the pirate now wounded, but far from dead...he took out his trusty gun..shot once in the air at his prey...and after the smoke had cleared.. the wounded pirate still ate a cardinal for lunch.
