Shamrocks Claim Louisville Invitational Tournament
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Trinity notched a 50-45 win over Eastern to claim its second Coca-Cola/Republic Bank Louisville Invitational Tournament at Bellarmine’s Knights Hall. Trinity also won the event in 2005.
Leading Mr. Basketball candidate Josh Sewell was named the L.J. Butch Charmoli Most Valuable Player Award Winner, his third Most Valuable Player award winner. He finished with 22 points.
Trinity became the first team to claim the King of the Bluegrass, Republic Bank Holiday Classic and Louisville Invitational Tournament championship in the same year. Trinity claimed the 2009 Canfield Development King of the Bluegrass on Dec. 22, 2009 with a 59-42 win over Seneca.
