I did not look for the Mr. KY Candidates, is he on that list?

Yeah, he won Mr. Football today as well.

Antonio Andrews, who led Fort Campbell High School to its third straight Class 2-A state championship earlier this month, has been named Kentucky’s 2009 Mr. Football.

Andrews, a 6-foot, 190-pound quarterback, rushed for 29 touchdowns and passed for 28 to help the Falcons finish 15-0. They beat DeSales 29-9 in the 2-A final on Dec. 4 in Bowling Green, Ky.

The Mr. Football award is given by The Associated Press and is chosen by a statewide panel of media representatives. Other top candidates included Simon Kenton’s Miles Simpson, Lexington Christian’s Domonique Hayden and Boyle County’s Rees MacShara.

Andrews completed 90 of 159 passes for 1,667 yards and also rushed for 1,597 yards on 140 carries. In two seasons as a starter he won two state championships and compiled a 29-0 record. He did not play in the Falcons’ loss to Franklin-Simpson in the 2008 regular-season finale.

Andrews is the second Fort Campbell player to win the award, joining 2005 winner Micah Johnson.
