Some considerations:

1A
Dave Eckstein, Bellevue: Bellevue improved from 4-6 to 9-2 so far this season behind the rushing of Lincoln Adams and coaching of Eckstein (I believe this is his first year at Bellevue), and picked up a huge win over Beechwood earlier in the season. Winning the region will be tough for them, but no matter what happens, coach Eckstein has done a great job improving this team.

Bill Mike Runyon, Paintsville: Turned Paintsville from 6-5 last year into 9-2 so far this year, and from what I have heard, Paintsville is looking much improved on both sides of the ball.

Randy Wood, Morgan County: Took a morgan County team with little expectations last year to an 8-4 record and the second round of the playoffs, and after losing a lot from that team, he didn't have a whole lot of expectations this year either. Yet he still led Morgan County to the 3 seed in their district and a 7-4 record on the year.

Donald Damron, East Carter: Damron usually has his team in the playoffs, but this may be the best season he's had since he's taken over at East Carter. So far they are 8-3, and a 2 seed in the playoffs. He has his team playing extremely well, especially on defense.

Doug Carter, Madison Southern: Doug Carter has brought his team back from a 3-7 last year to 9-2 this year, and they beat a tough Johnson Central team in the first round of the playoffs. Madison Southern has gone from a team that wasn't in the playoffs last year to a team that has a shot at winning the region this year.

David Buchanan, Mason County: After winning the regional championship two years ago behind the play of quarterback Dustin Grutza and Wide receiver Chris Lofton, he lost close to twenty starters from that team last year and ended up slipping to 1-9. This year he led his team to 7-4 and the first round of the playoffs, and they came one point away from beating a tough Rockcastle team.

Kevin Wallace, Bowling Green: Since a 13-7 loss to St. Xavier at the beginning of the season, no one besides Warren Central has come close to beating this team. Bowling Green has outscored all of their opponents by an insane amount of 533-33, and they have shut out their last seven games. I believe this team will go very far in the playoffs.

Bob Sphire, Lexington Catholic: This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for Lexington Catholic since they only returned four starters each on offense and defense, but they have played outstanding all year, behind the play of Justin Burke, who could possibly be one of the best Quarterbacks to play in the state of Kentucky.

Sam Simpson, Henry Clay: While Henry Clay had high expectations this year since they returned 9 starters on each side of the ball, and he has led his team to dominating wins over great teams like Boyle County and Bell County, and he also led his team to victory over a very tough Dunbar team. Was 6-6 last year, but they're 9-2 so far this year.

Paul Columbia, George Rogers Clark: After losing a cast of 13 seniors last year inluding Western Kentucky signee Charles Everett and some of his line, not a lot was expected from the Cardnials this year. They finished 8-3, losing by four points to Dunbar in the first round of the playoffs.

Mike Glaser, St. Xavier: St. X is a powerhouse every single year in football, and despite the fact that they have lost 37 seniors from last years team, they reloaded and so far, they're 11-0. If they continue to play like they have been they could end up being the 4A state champions once again.
