They need a private school playoff for teams like Highlands, Trinity and St.X, let them play each other. 5A is a Highlands to own, my gosh. Like playing a small college team.
No comp. for Highlands in 5A football in Ky. The 6A'S wouldn't beat them either this year. Let private schools play private schools. Give somebodyelse a chance in 5A. County schools like LCC, Whitley, Johnson Central can have great years but never make it to the championship because of the private school Juggernaut looming in the state semis.

I do agree that it is a shame that some of the best mountain teams have been snuffed out by the Birds over the past few years. Since Highlands has such a top notch program from the ground up, it would only seem logical to move the program to the highest level and compete there on a consistent basis. The Ft. Thomas football program has become sort of an anomaly in high school football of late. It's sad that the kids that work so hard in the mountains won't get a chance at tasting State as long as Highlands lingers around.....Hope whatever happens is for the best of all and not just the few.....
