Shelby Valley 105 - Logan (WV) 91 (Fast Lane Classic)

First off, let me state that I have yet to see either of these two talented young men play. Let me also state that I have no affiliation to either school.

You people are failing to include the most important aspect of basketball. The TEAM!!!

Cottrill scored more...maybe he is required to score more because that is what is needed for his team to win.

Justice had more assists...maybe that is what he needs to do for his team to win. Maybe Cottrill does not have the caliber of teammates to pass to.

Justice finishes better around the rim....maybe Logan's interior defense is not as good as Shelby Valley's.

I could go on forever with these scenarios. Both guys are going to do what is needed by their respective teams. You are trying to compare apples and oranges. Yeah, I know they play the same position, but they play different styles from what I can gather. Who are we to say which is better. We can't! We can give opinions and we all know what opinions are like.

Obviously, both are great players with a lot of potential or two of the best college basketball coaches in the country and maybe of all time would not be after them. Say what you want about Cottrill, but Bob Huggins would not give him the time of day if he could not play at the next level. Also, say what you want about Elisha Justice, but Rick Pitino would not give him an invited walk-on if he could not play. He obviously could play D1 at another school on scholarship, but he made a decision that he felt was best for him.

Give each their due and quit arguing about nothing.

Great post. Can't believe it took this far into the thread for someone to say this.
