Hazard has fielded one of the top teams from the mountains in recent years and this year returns a solid point guard and good supporting cast.
So, much of the same can be expected.
The Bulldogs are led by Josh Whitaker (photo), who has been considered one of the state's top point guards for several years. He averaged 15.6 points a game as a junior.
Hazard will playEast Ridge on Dec. 12 in the Farm Bureau Classic and then travels to 13th Region favorite Knott County Central on Dec. 17 and host the same team on later in the season on Feb. 5.
The Bulldogs will compete in the Lexington Catholic Holiday Classic after Christmas and the WYMT Classic after the New Year's holiday, along with the All "A" Classic and the Charlie Hammonds Classic at home in mid-February.
The regular-season finale is Feb. 16 at home against Breathitt County.
