More details: Senior running back Â*Austin Collinsworth ran for 127 yards and a touchdown on just seven carries to put the host Â*Bluebirds back in the state title game.
Highlands built a 42-0 lead by halftime and the game was played with a running clock after a Bluebirds field goal early in the third quarter made it 45-0.
Both of Pulaski County̢۪s touchdowns came against Highlands̢۪ reserves. The Maroons lost quarterback Zach Eastham to injury early in the second quarter. They were already playing without Chris Muse, who started the year at quarterback before a season-ending knee injury in late August.
The Bluebirds will play for their third straight state title next week against John Hardin, which beat Bowling Green 28-21 on Friday. Both teams head into that game undefeated. The Bluebirds have won 27 straight games.
