Are the excuses starting? The turnovers were in large part due to Highlands special teams playing great and forcing JC to start deep in their own end. Highlands forced some 2nd and 3rd long plays and JC's Off is not designed for that. And if you want to start talking about ifs and butts; If Highlands does not have a pentalty when 3rd and 2 in the first half, they probably get the first down and go in to score. And if the do not have a bone head defensive pass interference play, JC never scores the second TD and the score could easily be 21-7 or28-7 at the half. JC played a good game but Highlands is just the better and more balanced team. Highlands showed they had more depth and better half time adjustments. JC Has excellent running game but sooner or later will realize they need to establish a passing attack to advance farther in the playoffs.

I guess I have a little different theory on that. I dont think that Central needs to work on a pass offense nearly as bad as they need to work on a better pass defenses. I kind of like the Bear Bryant theory on passing. Only three things can happen when you throw the ball, and two of them are bad.....you know the story.

If you dont get yourself in a hole from letting your opponent have a fast strike play, you dont have to rely on it so much yourself. Perhaps a little more balance is needed, I wont totally disagreee with that, but I hope we never become one of those teams that put the ball in the air 40 times a game. This offense is too much fun to watch to go to a type of game where you only take 5 seconds off the clock on every play. I hate watching those type teams play. Just throwing one in here and there is all that is needed.


I am assuming that Cincy St. X has what you are referring to as a more more balanced attack than what your saying that JC does? Wonder why they could only put up 7 points against you? (By the way I saw that game on TV). I am also assuming that all the other teams that you have played fit into the same category that you are referring to as more balanced? By looking at the results of your other games this season, JC with their one dimensional approach was able to put up more points on the board than anyone you have played so far this year. Sort of kills that theory to a degree doesn't it?

No, I disagree with all of you guys claiming more pass, pass , pass. For us, it needs to be more stop the pass, pass, pass. Keep yourself from getting in holes and having to dig your way out. That's more of the answer, IMO.
