The dressing on the side of the road was a miscomunicaton. The only place large enough to hold a team the size of Ashland's was the gym. We gave word they would have to go across the road to get dressed. Our locker rooms at the field could just not accomidate a team of that size.
A coal bucket? The field is quite possibly one of the worst in the state, and at that time was probabley worse than it is now, but that has nothing to do with Jim Matney. You said he complained of mud cleats and field conditions, and I was simply showing that alot of other coaches complain about the field. Just because he complains of poor field conditions does not make him classless or nearly every football coach is classless was the only point I was trying to make with that statment.
The reasoning for the knee on the 2 point conversion was he didn't want to run up the score. He did want to reward one of his kids with his first rushing touchdown which I completley understand, and instead of scoring any more ponits he decided to take a knee on the conversion. If he wanted to run up the score he would have punched it in, but he didn't want to. He was only taking care of his kids. Surley you can see how that makes sense.
