Russell passed quite a bit back when I played didn't they? I was thinking back in 02 Michael Gabbard threw the ball quite often. I may be wrong though. It's just recent years when they've held the ball to the ground completely. But honestly if a kid is in a school system and is truly a great QB. And he sees, well actually his parents see his schools varsity coach running the ball every down. He's not going to stay if he has a true shot. He may be good enough to draw attention like you said. But why take a risk? When he could play in a passing offense where it's all throw and some run. Or vice versa a high caliber runningback stay in a passing offense where it's all throw. Example why would Josh Gross ever transfered to Raceland to a passing offense. And why would any of Racelands receivers go to Russell. You always put yourself in the best position. Sports have become more and more serious. Used to you just played the game you didn't question what offense or defense was bieng played. Now parents are becoming more and more involved in sports now than they were in previous years. More and more players are bieng held back and transfering.
And I'm not relating this to Russell and Raceland. I don't keep up with Jr. High that well so I couldn't tell you who transfered or not. I'm just speaking general football period.

I agree the parents are more involved and IMO that is one of the main problems with organized sports right now.

As for Why would Josh Gross go to a school like Raceland. Well that is similar to the offense he ran in college at Georgetown. Why would a reciever from Raceland go to Russell? Maybe that reciever at Raceland would be a playmaker at RB or even a QB in a running offense. Maybe he would just be a good reciever at Russell. They have had some good recievers over the last few years. Mitchell, Ison, Clark, Frazier, Sizemore. All were very productive recievers. The point is Russell's offense gets criticized alot, mostly by Red Devil fans, but it is not as boring as some people make it out to be. If Ivan has the kids to pass he will. It is also an offense that has averaged 36.14 points per game over the last five years. I'm sorry but that seems pretty dynamic to me.
