Atlantic Coast - Wake Forest "Demon Deacons"
I feel like Wake Forest is going to **** for this one.
Big 12 - Nebraska "Cornhuskers"
If you see a big boy from Nebraska and proceed to call him a cornhusker, I could see it getting scary but as a mascot, no.
Big East - Rutgers "Scarlet Knights"
This screams harlequin romance novel to me.
Big Ten - Illinois "Fighting Illini" or Penn State "Nittany Lions"
A fighting Illini doesn't intimidate the way a fighting Irish might, unless they are from the wrong side of Chicago and WHAT is a Nittany Lion?
Conference USA - Tulane "Green Wave"
I always thought Grundy, VA had the lamest mascot around with the Golden Wave and this is a verrry similar premise.
Mid-American - Kent State "Golden Flashes"
Now you see it, now you don't? What's scary about that?
Mountain West - TCU "Horned Frogs" or Utah "Utes"
This is self-explanatory.
Pac 10 - Arizona State "Sun Devils" or Oregon "Ducks"
What is a sun devil and how fierce can a duck be? The Mighty Ducks were awesome, Oregon Ducks not so much.
Southeastern - Alabama "Crimson Tide"
In the SEC, this is one of few mascots that is not an animal but by far the least intimidating name.
Sun Belt - North Texas "Mean Green"
How mean can green be?
Western Atlantic - Utah State and New Mexico State "Aggies"
Both established in the same year and both came out "Aggies". Just seems a little unoriginal by this point.
