Wow this is really a sign of where the Paintsville program is headed. Paintsville the last couple of years has been really struggling to compete at the level they once did. I think this is a group effort from top to bottom. This really starts with the coaching and how the players are prepared each week. First the offense Paintsville is trying to run this year makes them more vulnerable for being very up and down in production. First off they have team speed to speak of what so ever, yet they are trying to mimic the offense of Florida which has the elite players in the country. I want you to turn on the TV on a saturday and tell me how many teams run the Florida style offense? You will see very few teams running this system because they don't have the players to be effective on a day in day out basis, this to me looks like what's happening to Paintsville. Secondly, I feel that the coaching staff really doesn't understand the complexity of the offense and therefore aren't able to make the adjustments to different schemes they might face. To me I think it would make more sense to run a more power style offense like Phil Haywood, Jim Matney, or even Chuke Williams have done for many years. Of the names I've mentioned what do they have in common? One might answer this question by saying success. I think Paintsville needs to find good young mind who has a system that he knows inside and out, this makes more sense then running something that doesn't suit your players.
