5-1 offense vs 6-2 pros and cons

A 5-1 offense is used commonly by higher volleyball league levels. It requires one really good setter while the other five are potential attackers. Of course, having five potential attackers increases your chances of getting points. Another benefit about this is that the setter can confuse the opposing team by occasionally jumping and "dumping" the volleyball on the opponent's side.

A 6-2 offense has six potential attackers and two setters. This is a good formation because there are always three front-row hitters available. The bad thing about this formation is that it requires the two setters to not only be good setters, but also good hitters.
